My name is Ilaria Berenice Gasperoni. I started painting as a self-taught artist, working with 2 and 3D collage. I travelled a lot around the world: I lived three years in Granada (Spain) and one year in Tenerife. At that time I was especially a musician-performer. I started my activity in visual arts assembling collages in Brazil where I lived three years creating and selling needle works. In Brasil I worked also in the Art Gallery of Totonho, frequented by the major artists of Pelolurinho, the historic center of Salvador de Bahia. As I studied anthropology and philosophy at the University of Siena (Italy) and I’m always been interested in all religions and cultures around the world, many of my pictures came out of this background and open mind conception. Besides there’s a part of me very connected to the nature and I relate this when I paint animals. Moreover I usually like to associate objects wich apparently doesn’t have any connection between them, but they really have it, like the rhino with the tour Eiffel on the background or the Masai people in Duomo square (Milan), which are an allegory of the actual miscellany of different cultures that has been shaking and changing Europe in the last years. I also often paint ethnic women. I’m fascinated by deep rooted cultures and each woman in each different culture represents the mother earth. When I came back to Milan I exhibited my art work in various italian galleries, cafè and cultural associations and I improved my painting techniques with the danish artist Anders Pedersen and the italians Umberto Faini, Mintoy and Giuliana Bellini. So now my technique is a synergy between my instinctive part and the painting techniques I learned in the last years. I made a lot of painting art works under commission. One of my works, titled “Piazza Fontana†was published on the italian calendar 2007 “El calendari milanes†and yet during 2007 I’ve been elected artist of the month by two web sites: www.youart.org and www.arteitaliana.net . In 2008 Eva Minguet Cà mara dedicated two pages to my works in her book “Ilustraciòn de vanguardia†published by Monsa Editor of Barcelona. In 2009 The book “Al di là di ogni ragionevole dubbio†written by Francesco Tufano, President of european railroaders association, and illustrated by Ilaria Berenice was published by the Italian Csa editor.
