About Me

The Paul Shanley 1971 version you have decided to purchase is our most unusual product yet. Of medium height and comfortably squashy in places, he houses a brain of unusual content... full of surreal imagery, comedy and musical diversity. And boy, does he love to turn tricks! Magical ones, that is...

My Interests

Comedy and the healing power of laughter. Performing Magical trickery. Diverse music that strives to be different. Occasionally doing some painting and writing (hopefully get my novel, "VICTIM" back up and running soon).

I'd like to meet:

People who know what it's all about, mostly so I can sneak a look at their notes.

Music:

In no particular order... New Model Army, Iron Maiden, Faith no More, Audioslave, The Darkness, Lamb, Levellers, Pixies, Peter Gabriel, Apollo Four Forty, Portishead, The Prodigy, Sisters of Mercy, Skunk Anansie, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park, The Zutons, The White Stripes, Waterboys, Space, Tenacious D, Propellerheads, PWEI, Mountain, Weird Al Yankovic, Clannad, Carl Orff, Antonio Vivaldi, George Gershwin, Gustav Holst.

Movies:

These create smiles and ponderings... BASEketball, Being John Malkovich, Brazil (in fact, anything directed by the almighty Terry Gilliam), The Elephant Man (David Lynch), Churchill - The Hollywood Years, Dogma, Donnie Darko, Kung Fu Hustle, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Matrix, The Life of Brian, The Holy Grail, Near Dark, Run Lola Run, Shrek, "Sleuth", TRON, The Andromeda Strain etc, etc...

Television:

1960's TV, although "before my time", has moulded my appreciation for comedy and the surreal. Monty Python and The Prisoner. More recently, Brass Eye and Jam, The Mighty Boosh, Doctor Who and Torchwood (nostalgic purposes - sigh), Life on Mars, Countdown (good for brain and Carol is lovely), Dangermouse, Twin Peaks, Red Dwarf, Knightmare... and so on.

Books:

Why not try embracing the unusual world of Robert Rankin...? Or indeed any of the following: Douglas Adams, Dean Koontz, William Shakespeare, JK Rowling, Philip Pullman, Christopher Brookmyre, Terry Pratchett (although mostly just for 'MORT') and Scott Lynch.

Heroes:

Aren't they a box of choccies?.. More Games at arcadecabin.com | Cool Generators

The Weird Al Yankovic Collection

After many long years of turmoil and inner anguish, I have come to live with the fact that some people in this world have never heard of Wierd Al Yankovic. Poor swines. I feel that this travesty of co...
