I am that person that everyone comes to when they have things going on and need someone to talk to. I listen in confidence, I dont play that he say she say shiat. I try not to give out much advise especially if its something I have never been thru but if it is something I have experienced I will definately share my story and the outcome to give you something to go by. I am a poet. I love writing poetry. Most of my poems are about black people and what we've gone thru, or just about my life. Very seldom do I write "love" poems. When I put that pen to paper I want to take that opportunity to teach someone, or open their eyes up to something new. Im usually layed back. I consider myself to be shy but no one I know agrees with me. Im usually quiet and will just stay in the background of things until I've observed for a while. Then gradually I'll come out and show myself. I dont like being around fake people. Be who you are. If you dont like me I can respect that, I dont expect everyone to like me, cause I surely dont like everybody I meet, but dont smile in my face like we're cool, be real about it. I dont like being around people who switch up depending on who is around.....I hate that, be consistant. I love being around the children in my family all of them all ages. I am that aunt/auntie that all the kids love to be around. They think I'm "cool", its not that I am cool, I think its just that I let them be themselves, without preaching to them, they can talk to me about anything and I dont shut them down, I just listen. I feel that I have a responsibility to them. I am one of the elders in the family I should be here for them to turn to, give them guidance. I read a lot about black history and try to learn as much as I can about our familys history. This is important to me because I want the children to know where they came from and to understand why black people are the way we are today. As I gain new understanding I share it. I want every black person in America to know who WILLIE LYNCH was and undo what he's done to us. If you know and understand the Willie Lynch doctrine then you will begin to understand african americans. Sometimes I tend to be too serious, I am working on just having fun. I am a single parent, however now both my children are grown. I must say I did it by myself, I never received as much as a nickel from their D.B.D., but thats his shit, I did my part. I really had fun raising my kids, it was very hard doing it by myself but we survived. I saved the best part of me for last.......Kymale!!!! Kymale is my 4 year old grandson and he is my joy. He is the best part of my life, the smile on my face. When he was born someone asked me how it felt to be such a young grandmother, and if it would bother me if he called me grandma, my response was honored. I am honored to be tasked with the responsibility of being his grandmother and I feel very proud everytime I hear him say "gramma". So to sum it up I am a proud black woman, mother, grandmother, auntie, and sister, that is a nurturer by nature with a poem in my soul with the need to help my people to grow with a little 4 year old that motivates it all......................................................... .......................................................... I've got a new joy in my heart now, my little grandaughter Lai'Annah, she is the most precious! She makes me strive even harder to be my best. I didnt know my heart could hold so much love...... I'M A POET .....I'VE GOT THIS GIFT AND I KNOW IT I'VE BEEN TOO AFRAID TO SHOW IT SCARED TO STAND BEFORE MANY AND EXPRESS IT BUT I CANT CONTROL IT I'M A POET GIFT OF WORD MY OWN EXPRESSION MY STORY OF LIFE AND ITS LESSONS MY STYLE GIVEN ONLY TO ME WHEN I SPEAK IT MY SOUL SOARS FREE WHISPERS FROM THE PAST VOICES IN THE WIND I'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE & I WILL COME AGAIN MY WORDS ARE LIKE ALPHA AND OMEGA FREEDOM SONGS AND DANCE WISDOM FOR THE FUTURE CRIES FROM THE PAST YEAH I'VE BEEN FIGHTIN IT BEEN TRYING TO HIDE IT BUT ALL ALONG I'VE KNOWN IT I'M A POET AND I'VE GOT A LOT TO SAY
