About Me

I really got into Green Party politics when I was about fourteen years old. It wasn’t really until about three years ago that I realised that one of the best ways to make the differences in society that we need to see cannot be done by protesting and fighting from the outside, but that it has to be done from inside the institution that governs this country.
Not all of my friends are green, but that doesn’t mean that they are horrible people. Everyone deserves the same chances in life.
The answer is better education, and demonstrating that a green and ethical path can work very well for all.
In terms of the sudden surge of interest in green issues, the general public have never really been told enough about the effects of consumerism, climate change, pollution or animal husbandry, so I think it is good that ordinary people are showing an interest in what they can do now.
I think that if everyone, especially young people, had the chance to understand the issues involved in living an ethical 'green' life, and had a full explanation in ways that it meant something to them, adapted to their backgrounds and made personal, then everyone would care.
I hope that there will be more effort put into renewable forms of energy and production, and preservation of the natural environment/species. Politics needs to be brought back to the masses, being green should be essential to everyone.
