COYOTE WRECKS

About Me

Coyote Wrecks are Paddy Stratton on vocals and lead guitar, Billy Fleming on drums and Ian Macfarlane on bass.
Coyote Wrecks recorded their first album 'SURREAL' in early 2007 and debuted it at Hawkfest at Donington in June 2007, where they joined a host of acclaimed musicians on the line-up. The band are currently working on their second album, which promises to be outstanding - and with some very special guests...
Paddy Stratton began his journey in 1972 playing in folk clubs, then in a succession of bands through the seventies & eighties playing everything from country, jazz rock, reggae & new wave. He found success in the eighties with Track 21, Junior C Reaction & the cult band The Horizontal Rock Stars.
Since the nineties Paddy has been an established writer & solo performer, a long time collaborator with The Levellers, writing tracks for them and gigging with the Leveller's Simon Friend. Paddy is now also working with poet and storyteller John Row, in an abstract travelling political revue called Serious Times - their debut CD was released in Texas in May 2007 and they have performed at various venues ranging from prisons to pubs, to the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas.
Paddy has also recently collaborated on a track with David Collins called “Turning The Wheel” - see the'widget on the left hand side of the page to hear more. Much more to come so keep posted!!
Billy Fleming is a well-respected musician who has worked with the late Paul Samson, Egypt, Motorhead, Girlschool, Gregg Wright, Ginger Baker & Hawkwind among many, many others.
With an illustrious career to date, Billy has earned a reputation for being a meticulously professional drummer with perfect timing - you could set your metronome by him - aswell as an amazing writer and guitar player. Billy also runs the MUSICOUTPOST STUDIOS in Norfolk where the Coyote Wrecks CD,s are recorded. To see Billy live is a real treat - ask anyone who's seen his astounding mid-show mini set!
The newest and youngest Coyote is Ian Macfarlane, who joined the band in June 2008, replacing founder member Jason Illidge on bass who has been lured by the bright lights of London.Ian has been playing bass since 1998. After joining his first band when he was 16, Ian stopped taking lessons, finding that learning by ‘feel’ allowed him to develop a keen intuitive style of playing.
Ian worked with various bands until 2003 when he met Billy Fleming. Together they formed a three piece rock band called Generator. After Generator, Ian took a short break from gigging and focused on writing songs and scores on the bass, also taking up a little guitar. In 2005 he joined a 5 piece funk fusion band which is an ongoing project to this day.
Fatefully Ian and Billy met up again by a chance encounter at a gig at Tracks in North Elmham, and the connection was revived. After one session with Ian, Paddy & Billy knew he was the man for the job. Subsequent gigs have proved them right. With his enthusiasm, dedication and competency in a whole range of playing styles, Ian has fitted into the band effortlessly.
