Victoria (Vegans ROCK!!!)

Victoria Chalaya has been entertaining people for quite some time. Before moving to Los Angeles to study film at UCLA when she was 17, she had already sang, danced and modeled professionally in Russia for more than a decade. Soon after moving to California, she started to get parts in movies like “Fat Albert,” “Meet the Fockers,” and “Christmas with the Kranks.” After several television gigs and six uncredited film appearances, bigger and better things seem to finally be coming her way. More recently, the sexy import appeared in Amy Heckerling’s new movie “I Could Never Be Your Woman” with Michelle Pfeiffer and “Mini’s First Time” with Nikki Reed. She’s also a model for “Duff Stuff” and “Generic.” Check out her latest interview at Pollystaffle.com“I became a vegan 4 years ago, after one of my trips visiting my family back home in Saint-Petersburg , Russia . While I was there I randomly came across a great book about health and nutrition. Reading the book raised a lot of questions about the connection between food and health. When I got back to LA I read Joel Fuhrman's book "Fasting and Eating for Health", and it changed my life forever. His book asked the question “can you name one animal on this earth that drinks other animal’s milk at mature age?". I sat stunned with my mind completely blank for a solid 5 min...I knew I had been quite ignorant to nature my whole life, and that there were probably many more good questions to ask myself. Even though veganism started out as a health thing for me, animal compassion came as a chain reaction quite soon. I went to one of the health expos, and got a bunch of booklets from farm animal and lab research rescues... I remember leaving, and looking at the images of tortured animals, dieing for no cause. I felt so sick to my stomach and I had tears in my eyes. It was at that moment I knew that I will never be able to contribute to that torture again, and I will be vegan for the rest of my life.
