About Me

PopularInk began with a group of writers and artists interested in linking popular fashion to new American literature.   We wanted shirts that had something intelligent to say and a fresh way to say it, shirts to spark interesting conversations.   We wanted books we could take on the train, plane, jitney, or to the rooftop deck. And we wanted to make it all accessible.FAQ:Q:Why a book rather than an iPod? A: Ever tried reading an iPod in the tub?     Q:Why do most of the books come with a shirt? A: So you can talk about what you’re reading.    Change your shirt, change your life.Q:How many PopularInk artists and writers can    fit on the head of a pin? A:72. We found a really big pin.Myspace Graphics

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

POPULAR WRITERS AND ARTISTS... JORN AKE.. was born to a family of Ivory-billed Woodpeckers and hammered his way through the woods of Virginia, London, and Prague, before returning with his beekeeper wife to write poems, prose, and stories from a loft with a circular view of New York. ..M. BOYES.. has hiked Kilimanjaro, smoked long black cigarettes and tossed back raki with dubious characters on the Adriatic coast. Now living in a graceful brick house in a southern city, Boyes makes short films, writes far-fetched stories and creates elaborate mazes for the magic-bean-keeper, Henry. PAULA CHAMPA.. had a former career as a rally driver in northern Europe, but was abruptly forced to change professions after a collision involving an errant flower cart severely compromised the use of her clutch foot. During rehabilitation, she acquired a black belt in Bikram yoga and a habit of writing on long train rides. NATHAN ALLING LONG.. who collects beach glass, broken sticks, and the ends of candles, began writing stories as a boy in a hut in a forest on some undisclosed continent. Now he lives in the tallest house on the tallest hill in the most populated state, where he fashions tees and stories from the footprints of wild animals that cross his porch. JESSAMYN JOY ROSS.. began the story of her adventures in the raisin capital of the world, Central California, traveling from the Alps to the Canadian Arctic before returning in triumph to fashion stories. She lives and works in a ticky-tacky Sixties apartment complex, just up the path from a lovely California beach. Myspace Graphics Myspace Layouts
