At just 18 years old, Lindsay Jurek is off to a fast start with her musical career. Lindsay started singing at the age of 9 and has never looked back since. As a young artist it is sometimes hard to get started, but Lindsay has had no trouble opening doors for herself with her immense talent.
In 2007-08, Lindsay had her most sucecssful year yet, playing for crowds as large as 12,000, and opening for the country music group The Wreckers (Michelle Branch/Jessica Harp), as well as Chris Cagle at a concert for 1700 students at Ohio State University. Lindsay performed at the Genesis Center in Gary, Indiana as part the annual Feed the Future Holiday Extravaganza charity benefit, as well as playing at several venues in Northwest Indiana including Northwoods Summer and October Fests, Lake and Porter County Fairs, Hammonds Bizarre Bazaar, Towle Theater, and almost anywhere willing to let her play, including 3 guest interviews on both 103.9X-Rock and Indiana105. Singing the National Anthem at the Gary/Chicago air show was an honor, along with being asked to sing back up for Chicago band Sleight of Hand on their new album. Lindsay recently recorded 3 new songs at Danny Giorgi's recording studio (songs featured here on Lindsay's myspace) with plans of releasing her 2nd CD by this summer. Lyrics and music written by Lindsay, vocals and acoustic guitar performed by Lindsay.
Lindsay does an array of cover songs by such artist as Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and more, but most impressive are Lindsay's original songs displaying her song writing talent. She will be performing at summer fairs across the Midwest in 2009, including her second year at the Indiana State Fair, and then moving this fall to Nashville to attend college and pursue music. There's no doubt that "Lindsay Jurek" will cause a lot of attention in the years to come!
