8M Clothing is the brainchild of company founder and Creative Director, Bernie Madriaga. 8M is created by 2 different thoughts, 2 different lifestyles and 2 different themes fused into a "Binary Mindset". The mindset of integrating Island and California thoughts, lifestyles and
themes into a unified design concept. All those elements fused into one brand to cast a laid back Island lifestyle brewed with a California attitude. Our motto is "CHILLIN'". Whatever you do on a grind, it's what to do when your all worked up: Get some girls, HANG OUT, CHILL, RELAX, GO TO DA BEACH, LOUNGE AT BARBEQUES, CLUBS OR WHATEVER YOU FIND CHILLIN'.. you get da picture.
8M is inspired by the 80's and 90's surf and skate wear industries and influenced by laid back melodic music from Reggae, R&B to Underground Hip Hop. We use numbers in some of our designs to represent letters of the alphabet which is reminiscent of the early 1990's for representing letters on pagers to send out messages. That concept is used for the design of our 8M logo. Where the 8 represents the letter "B" thus symbolizing "BM" which inspired the " B inary M indset" of the brand.
