About Me

It is absolutely the biggest thrill to wake up slowly and hopefully late, the smell of dark roast coffee wafting through the house mixed with the smell of wooden floors and clean sheets...to look out across a field-like yard with a huge live oak wrapped in chilling mist, gray light filtering through the branches...a cold wind blowing the branches...I am totally thrilled by little things like the smell of a wood fire, scraps of old wallpaper, faces, old wooden houses, the way colors were combined in the 1920's, cool air and leaves blowing in the trees...I love to sit in a rocking chair and look out of the window, thinking. I love to walk forever in the streets of Paris and London, a candle lit in a dark room, the smell and sound of the ocean, watching the picture appear in the Dektol, the way Louise Brooks looked when she was “the girl with the patent leather hair”,figuring out songs on the guitar, playing the guitar through an effects box, low sounds. I would like to hold a little bird but I am afraid..a lot of my life is spent trying to get to the ocean, designing things and writing things down in notebooks...I like to cut out things I like and glue them in books, then looking at these books makes me really happy and inspired.I am also trying to get back to Deltaville, a place I spent a lot of my time as a child, by a river..fresh fish never again have tasted like they did there...I love drones, guitars open tuned...I am amazed by my children and the things they do..I like to hear Gabie recite poetry..I like to wear amazing clothes, usually antique kimonos or something from Worthmore, I love laughing with friends and sharing ideas..I love where the photos of Atget take my mind..I want to do old photography techniques but it is so time consuming...I want to make daguerretypes..I want to build things out of wood..
