Hor “Braca Baruh†iz Beograda osnovan je kao Srpsko jevrejsko pevacko drustvo, ustanovljeno 1876. godine. Promenilo je naziv u sadasnji , kao uspomenu na trojicu brace iz poznate jevrejske porodice Baruh iz Beograda, stradale u pogromima pocetkom II svetskog rata. Neki istrazivaci tvrde da se radi o najstarijem jevrejskom horu na svetu.
Tokom svog dugogodisnjeg rada, hor je priredio veliki broj koncerata u svim znacajnim muzickim centrima Jugoslavije, dok su inostrana gostovanja vodila Ansambl sirom zemalja sveta, od Evrope do koncerata u Karnegi Holu u Njujorku, 1978. godine.
Hor “Braca Baruh†redovan je ucesnik svih najvaznijih festivala ozbiljne muzike (BEMUS-a, BELEF-a, Mokranjcevih dana u Negotinu, JHS u Nisu, Zimrija - Jerusalim i dr.) odakle redovno donosi niz nagrada i priznanja za svoj rad. Na ogromnom repertoaru hora se redovno nalaze najpoznatija dela muzicke literature svetskih autora, srpskih stvaralaca i jevrejskih kompozitora, kroz sve epohe i stilove.
Neke od najznacajnijih licnosti iz istorije nase umetnicke muzike bile su na celu hora “Braca Baruhâ€, medju njima i S. S. Mokranjac, J. Marinkovic, S. Hristic, B. Babic, B. Pascan, A. Vujic, D. Savic i dr.
Medu najistaknutijim vokalnim solistima koji su sudelovali na koncertima hora, paznju zavreduju imena A. Marinkovica, B. Cvejic, Brede Kalef, Ã. Cakarevic, te u novije vreme Jadranke Jovanovic, Slavoljuba Kocica, Zivojina Cirica i ostalih.
Hor je ucestvovao u nizu TV i radio emisija, snimajuci trajne zapise u zemlji i inostranstvu. Za PGP RTS hor “Braca Baruh†je snimio dve LP ploce i jedan CD, sa jevrejskom sinagogalnom i tradicionalnom muzikom. 2007.godine, nakon vrlo uspesnog koncerta na Kolarcu, "Jerusalim od zlata", snimljen je i istoimeni CD.
Hor “Braca Baruh†je dva puta odlikovan od strane Predsednistva drzave, za svoj doprinos kulturnoj afirmaciji zemlje. Hor vodi dirigent Stefan Zekic.The Baruch Brothers choir from Belgrade was founded in 1876. as Serbian-Jewish Singing Society. It changed name in memory of three brothers from famous Belgrade Jewish family Baruch, who were killed during the outbreak of the Second World War. Some researchers claim that it's the world's oldest Jewish choir.
During it's many years of function, choir held numerous concerts in all relevant music centres in Yugoslavia, while foreign tours took Ensemble throughout the world, from Europe to concerts in New York's Carnegie Hall in 1978.
The Baruch Brothers choir is regular participant of all prime classical music festivals (BEMUS, BELEF, Mokranjac's days in Negotin, International Choir Festival in Nis, Zimriya in Jerusalem, etc.) and serial holder of numerous prizes and acknowledgments for it's work. Choir's immense repertory regularly contains eminent works of world authors, serbian and jewish composers, throughout all epochs and styles.
Some of the prominent persons from our music history headed Baruch Brothers choir, including S. S. Mokranjac, J. Marinkovic, S. Hristic, B. Babic, B. Pa--can, A. Vujic, D. Savic, etc.
Among foremost vocal solists who participated choir's concerts, attention should be brought to the names of A. Marinkovic, B. Cvejic, Breda Kalef, Ã. Cakarevic and recently J. Jovanovic, S. Kocic, Zivojin Ciric and others.
Choir took part in series of TV and radio shows, making recordings in country and abroad. The Baruch Brothers choir recorded two LP records and one CD for PGP RTS, containing jewish synagogue and traditional music. In 2007, after very succesful concert in KNU, "Jerusalem of gold", choir recorded CD, named the same as the concert.
The choir was two times honoured by the State's presidency for contribution on cultural affirmation of the country. Choir is conducted by Mr. Stefan Zekic.
