About Me

The ERACE coalition was established in June of 2006 after one of its founders, Mallory Cyr,graduated from a magnet high school in Las Vegas that was highly affected by tracking. After seeing the inability for all students to succeed based on their socioeconomic status and race, Mallory gained the desire to make a difference. Once arriving at Georgetown University, she started working at two schools in the district, and she realized it was an issue that extended beyond Sin City -- it was affecting all of America. Through a partnership with Teaching for Change, Mallory and a fellow student, Eric Bicknese, organized the ERACE coalition -- a group of students, teachers, and parents who demand a change in the school systems within their designated areas. Starting in Las Vegas, the coalition has now reached over 20 cities, and each group fights to raise awareness and make policy change occur. If you are interested in starting your own group in the area where you live, please contact Mallory or Eric for endorsement applications, as well as guides and information regarding how to be effective in your area! WE SHALL OVERCOME!Mallory Cyr - [email protected] Eric Bicknese - [email protected]

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Students, parents, teachers, and American citizens who care about our children and their ability succeed.By “friending” the ERA¢E Coalition on your Myspace.com page, you are signing this petition:I, _______________, on the ___ of _____, 20__, support the initiatives of the ERA¢E Coalition and promise to work towards eliminating economic and racial inequalities within the classroom. I will work within my community to teach others about the issue of institutionalized segregation. I will branch out to young people I know to inform them of the opportunities rightfully offered to them. I will encourage college attendance to my fellow peers. I will speak with college students and professionals to discuss the importance of ending segregation now in order to not let it continue to the working society. I commit myself to working towards equal opportunities for every person, and through working with those in solidarity with the ERA¢E Coalition, we will make the education system better for all American children.
