Carrie-On-Music

Carrie was born 1982 close to Würzburg, Germany. She spent her young years in the care of her grandparents. As a child she used to sing herself to sleep which drove them crazy. She came to Stuttgart when she was 12 years old to live with her mom and stepfather. Due to problems at home, she lived in an assisted living of the youth welfare. A big motivation for her to pursue music was the relation to her father whom she did not know. There were however 3 things about him; his age, nationality and that he was a musician. After a failed attempt to contact him at the age of 14 Carrie gave up trying to contact him until she was 20 years old. The thing that he did give her was passion for music. One of her biggest dreams was to work as an audio engineer and have her own studio one day where she can create hot tracks any time she felt the urge and the vibe. She started collecting LPs and taught herself to spin and became a DJ at a local spot. However she stood out mostly for the mix-tapes that she used to put out. Unfortunately, she had to reduce the time that she spent spinning due to an unexpected but welcomed pregnancy at the age of 16. The same time her daughter was born she completed the secondary school, moved to her own house and received job training in retail. While hustling at local jobs, she started producing beats and writing songs. As she got deeper into producing she built a little home studio and started recording some local artists and mixing tracks. In March 2004 her mom gave her the greatest gift of her life. She went to the bank, got a loan and gave Carrie the chance to study audio engineering at the School of Audio Engineering where—in January 2006—she became the first female in Stuttgart to complete this course.
