Breakdown was born at the beginning of 2006 when Johnny “V” called his old friend Xav to create a hard rock tribute band. Then, they contacted to Chris Glavich for drums and Mauricio Aburto for bass. That way they could begin to practice with the entire band.In June of 2006, Xav talks to Eddie Montana, his old school friend, who gets into the band.Together they make some gigs playing some hard rock covers, but Johnny, Xav and Eddie get tired of the same thing, so they begin to compose their own song. At same time, Mauricio was leaving the group ‘cause practice didn’t give him time for studying.That way, Chris ask to prove to Dieter Hidecker as the new bass of Breakdown, and after a lot of gigs the group decides to begin taking the first ideas for recording the first album and the first performances on foreign countries.In December, Eddie must leave the band to travel to Sweden and make contacts for promoting the band in Europe and that way to get recording voices there.As long as that, in Chile the group doesn’t stop. They invite Carlos Vergara, great Chilean musician and singer, to be the front man of Breakdown.Is like that, during 2007, with the new line-up, the band performs on the best stages of Chilean rock and record their first single “Lost Highway” on “La Batuta”, in Santiago.Unfortunately, in December of 2007 Carlos, Dieter and Chris decide to leave the band because of the ego inside the group. the live member in chile are:At the same time, Eddie comes back to Chile, and tells the group his intention of record the first album of Breakdown and, being the 3 original members, gets playing with new live-members on the next gigs of the band both inside and outside the country.In July of 2008, Xav must to leave the band for personal projects.Nowadays, Breakdown has grown up till the point that has got the opportunity of courting to musicians as Kiko Loureiro(ANGRA).Besides, the group is totally dedicated to the record of the first high-definition album called “MADE OF SCARS” that has release date in November of 2008 and is being produced by Pablo Stipicic (producer and musician), mixed and produced in Chile, and recorded besides in Sweden.
