About Me

My name is Carl, but call me Windrider.I am a resident of Northern Illinois, a happily-married husband, a father, a grandfather, a seeker, a dreamer and a Windrider, one who rides the musical wind on a carved tube of cedar and a song, on my own personal flute journey of discovery and enlightenment.A student of Native American culture, spirituality, shamanism, and history.A player and maker of my own Native American style flutes.With simple tools and a stockpile of dreams and imagination, I create and sell my flutes, or will even in some cases give them away to anyone who desires to become a Windrider like myself.I offer some samples of my work here, so please check out some photos of some of my past flutes that I have created, as well as the ones I have just made.I also love a good pizza with just the right amount of good sauce and loads of good quality mozzarella cheese, or a well-grilled steak.

I would love to meet and sit down with some of my favorite fluteplayers and flutemakers, including R. Carlos Nakia, Douglas Spotted Eagle, Jeff Ball, Butch Hall, and Coyote Oldman. I would also love to meet some of my favorite instrumental groups, including Cusco, Brule, Mythos, and Acoustic Alchemy.
