Cambridge & Stephen - songwriters

About Me

Cambridge & Stephen is the latest creative entity for Sharyn Cambridge and Colin Stephen – two writers, singers and musicians who have done their time to becomemasters of harmony in popular Australian music.
Their track record
They name drop because they can!
Individually and/or collectively, they have performed or toured with some of the world's music greats including The Eagles, Roy Orbison, The Hollies, Neil Sedaka, FrankieValli and the Four Seasons, Leo Sayer, Barry White and John Farnham.
They've also sung on recordings for others and given their voices to radio and television commercials. Previous musical reincarnations have included:
DOVE The Pied Pipers Quadrant Sharyn Cambridge and the Colin Who Band

Their latest CD
A little grab of Baz
The name Baz is Sharyn's nickname, and contrary to some, the title refers to a media term meaning, "to have a quick listen to a small selection ofmaterial."
Completed in December 2006, it is an Australian Independent Release that features notable musicians including Paul Williamson, Anita Quale, Alan Brooker and two of TheLittle Stevies.
Musically it's Groovy Pop that swings with light R&B, country and jazz overtones depending upon the track.
Their music
They write strong and commercial melodies to sing in close harmony, within a variety of musical genres from swing and gospel to R&B and pop, without being typecastto any one.
They have witnessed and survived the eras, the phases and the issues over decades to write about it, record it and perform it their way.
Their free music downloads
If you're an artist who's short of a great song, you're welcome to record one of theirs.
Their songs are also suitable for film and television soundtracks.
All material is under copyright © and registered with the Australian Performing Rights Association. (APRA)
Bizarre Facts
Baz and Col did write and record the Swagman jingle, once voted by the D Generation as the most annoying and certainly the daggiest commercial on radioand television. Col was one of the singers on the Countdown television theme. When fronting the Colin Who Band, it was Baz and Col on top of the Big M Bus that trawled beaches with the Big M Fun Shows. That is Baz singing on the iconic Yooralla commercial with John Paul Young, Venetta Fields, Wendy Stapleton, and Tommy Emmanuel. And Col did co-write it with David Hirschfelder. Baz did win an Australian Radio Records Award - the forerunner of an ARIA. That was Col acting as a kid on the Early Bird Show starring Daryl Cotton. Baz and Col did sing Amazing Grace for the Pope at the MCG!
