An innate pleasure in watching people having fun, dancing and listening music. This is what Chiara realized when, at her 18-year-old birthday party, she hosted 102 people at her place, or to be more precise 106, adding the 4 policemen who came by the call of next door neighbours because of pumping volume.
But when she started studying at university, she began taking this passion seriously. So she tested herself in organizing bigger and bigger university parties with different types of sound.
Then in September 2007, Chiara joined with the “Fonostudio lab†crew, one of the biggest recording studios in Rome, where she’s now in charge of organization of musical events.
But after the successful university party, Chiara (aka SoundGate) and Intiman decided to work together and build up a RAM RECORDS NITE nite, hosting one of the best dj and producer of the world drum ‘n’ bass scene: SUBFOCUS. They worked hard to organize and promote the gig, but the great outcome of the event was worth it. A shocking line up was the frame around this artist, the 22nd of November @ the Alpheus Club: scratch performances by Gengis Khan from the Rome Zoo, the most famous hip hop group in Rome, a break beat live set by Pilloplex from Untravelled Ground rec, dj Rookie and Maztek from Subculture d’n’b. Ale G from Romastyle couldn’t miss the event, one of the hottest events in town. SoundGate can’t keep a curb on her passion for music events, that’s why she built up other big gigs in the capital hosting ROLLERS INC, from Turin, DJ FRESH from BREAKBEATKAOS, UK. In June 2008 she promoted a big event in the club "Open Bar" and she started an interesting partnership with two best drum 'n' bass djs in Rome ALE G (2step) and ANDYPOP (Basement Magazine) that she held in her agency of events promotion as art directors, to host DJ APHRODITE, on the beach, with two beautiful swimming pools full of people, a wolderful and electric atmosphere...The most famous drum 'n' bass dj in the world said to her after his set: "Never had a set in my life with such a energy, Chiara best promoter!".On November 1th 2008 Chiara organized a big event @ Brancaleone hosting the PENDULUM set featuring MC JAKES: the club was so crowdy that 700 people couldn’t get in.
In late 2008, in co-operation with "Flavour Promotion" and "Pink Beat" promoted a "METALHEADZ Nite" with GOLDIE, STORM, HELLRAIZER @ Alpheus Club. And always one to know what's hot on the scene, Chiara booked GROOVERIDER to let play in Rome, next 9th of January 2009.
After the great success @ Brancaleone, that wasn't hosting drum 'n' bass party since 2006, Chiara and her crew decided to invite JOHN B in the capital, on February 27th 2009!This time not only drum 'n' bass burned out the dancefloor, but electro, dubstep, 80' pop played by the London dj made people go nuts.
So is she stoppin'? Absoulutely not.
With more shows planned and a growing passion, in 2009 we'll see how she mashes up the hottest spots in Rome once again!
