About Me

Either I, or thou or both must go with him
As I sat alone listening to the blur of beatniks in the background playing from a cd that could have only come from one person in this world, I began to feel a disserting, strange feeling creeping through the whole of me. It was a guilt that I had long suppressed; in the elation of my new life, I had elapsed myself. The immensity of where I was going had made me forget how I was getting there.
Sipping on my coffee listening to a genius reiterate the words of another, I thanked my soul that this had come to me. Retrospectively I knew this would happen. I lit a cigarette to calm my nerves. I stared as the ash at the end of the butt grew longer. Like life it was waiting to crumble. Not knowing when, it clung to every bit of oxygen, every spark within its reach. I was inspired then to forget the insipid thoughts of conformity and graceless fame. The shallowness of my preoccupations shamed me, and had I been accompanied by some person, they would have seen me blush in humiliation.
