R.K. Sloane Memorial Show!Enter into the twisted carnival landscape that is the mind of R.K. Sloane! In celebration of his life and art (on the 1 year anniversary of his death), Stay Gold & All City Tattoo are proud to present a showcase of original Sloane master pieces. On October 20th, 2007 - from 6pm - 10pm, many original paintings, pen and inks, drawings, and sculptures will be on display @ Stay Gold/All City in Albuquerque, NM. We are asking the public to dress up as clowns in honor of Ric. There will be free prints given out to anyone clowning around! There will also be very limited # of Gicclee' prints on canvas for sale, so save up those duckets! From 10pm - 1:30 am, the Launchpad will be hosting a Sloane Tribute Art/Music Show! It will feature original art from many people who were, and continue to be inspired by this madman! Also, many of Rics' friends will be performing musically to pay honor to the man! The lineup is as follows: Eric McFadden Trio, Beefcake in Chains, Black Maria, and Dope Riddle. His is a renound artist and is regarded as one of the kings of the lowbrow art scene. For the better part of his career, he and his wife Teri Corbin, also a very talented artist, lived and created in Albuquerque, NM. He has done art for numerous punk rock and rock bands through the years as well as a variety of unique and disturbing lamps and sculptures. RK sloane drew Rat Fink comics for Big Daddy Roth for more than a decade. RK Sloane passed away in October of 2006. He will be missed. See you in Carnival town, Ric.
