Jenny Archimede is an Italian-American, classically trained pianist/guitarist turned original songstress from NY. Her on stage virtuosity is graced with the skills and presence of a refined and rough on the edges misfit prodigy. Writing, producing, and presenting her own mix of style in solo and full band renditions, she knows her instruments intimately as a soloist, and she stages her songs along a wanderlust landscape, offering a direct pathway through phrased translations of soulful, lyrical artistry. Recordings first began in Austin, TX with producer/engineer Mark Hallman (Carole King, Ani Difranco, Shawn Colvin) at the mixing board, of The Congress House Studio, and her debut album evolved with a momentum true to her wanderlust themed songs. In four days, six songs were recorded and mixed, including solo performances and full band sessions cast of pro musicians (JJ Johnson, Jon Greene, Mike Hardwick, and Brian Standefer) all from Austin. Jenny Archimede went on to work as a musician and writer/foreign correspondent, traveling internationally between two countries (Italy and France) and two coasts (NY and Seattle/LA), while secretly completing her full album production solo, writing more than an album's worth of new songs along the way. "I am definently the daughter of immigrant dreams, traveling to where the streets are paved with gold, and where they are not. These songs are of a real momentum, a traveling soundtrack of scenes, deparatures and connections, written through melodramatic moments of moving on, and, moving on." Upon returning to the west coast, and fine tuning the details of her new multi track voice /instrument songs, Jenny Archimede settled into the studio again, tracking, orchestrating, and mixing the new songs at the infamous Robert Lang Studio in Seattle, WA. Release is scheduled to for Summer 2007... Jenny Archimede, began playing classical piano at the age of four, and through the years, crafted her on stage talents performing in theatrical productions across the country. She was a named a finalist in the Musicians Atlas Independent Music Awards as a 'musician who pushes the parameters of traditional musical boundaries.' For her earlier acoustic, solo compositions, Jenny Archimede was named a John Lennon International Songwriting Award Winner, and a NAMT Songwriting Award Winner, performing in Washington, D.C at the inaugural International Conference, with support of The National Recording Academy. She went on to study classical piano performance in NY at the graduate level, and theory/composition on guitar in southern Italy, with the late Gianni Centi. "There is a love of musical intensity and virtuosity in her writing that is rare among today's young songwriters. Jenny Archimede's compositions have something to say, as she weaves classically infused piano motifs and intuitive guitar riffs that embrace the intimate, vocal lines of her lyrical sentiments and translations."Free MySpace Layouts by Iron Spider
