Megan Falley is a slam poet who has competed with the SUNY New Paltz Slam Team at national competitions in Michigan and New Mexico. She was a 2009 Nuyorican Slam Team Quarterfinalist and she won second place her first time competing there. She has been a feature poet at The Knitting Factory and The Nuyorican Poet’s Café, both in New York City. She has recorded tracks on two poetry CDs: “She Spoke” (2007) and “Spittin’ Imagery” (2008). She is president of the popular club Rap Poetry Music (RPM) at New Paltz and has worked at transforming it from a minimally attended club to a space with not enough chairs to hold all its members. Megan is the author of the Chapbook “Cricket Fuel” (2009) published by her best friend and Coach, Brian Omni Dillon, as a Christmas present. She is also a member of the SUNY SLAM FAM and a member of the Intangibles Spoken Word Poetry Collective. All of this has happened before she was old enough to legally order a martini.She is best known for standing on benches outside classrooms and shouting her poems to anyone who will listen. She is an avid blogger and updates her website KNEEPITS.NET every day, providing appreciators of her work with something to read constantly.Megan has traveled to Ireland, Israel, and will be living in New Zealand for a semester of college. She hopes to bring poetry to every soil she touches.
