TOMMY ZITO is an entertainer,who has loved music and entertained throughout his entire life. He began singing at the age of four, and recorded his first record at the age of eight, billed as "Little Tommy", His children's recording " I Played a Trick On Santa Claus" was written and produced by Tony Desolo and Les Bear on the Wan-Dell label, and his first major appearance was in Hazleton, Pennsylvania as the opening act for the Platters. Later, Tommy had the distinction of being a member of three groups, Uproar, Magnum, and Avaitor, furthering his career and gaining valuable experience.His first group, Uproar was one of the Lehigh Valley's top bands of the 60's and 70's, whose single "Love is Gonna Keep Us Together" earned them a spot in Billboard Magazine. From 1980-87 he became the keyboardist/singer/songwriter for the group Magnum, which toured the country and, for two years running, was the top band for the Miller Rock Network. In 1987 Tommy accepted the position as background vocalist/keyboardist for the RCA recording group Aviator, which was managed by Hall & Oates manager Tommy Motolla and Mike Appel, the first producer and manager of Bruce Springsteen.Tommy's opening credits read as a who's who of the music industry. He has shared the stage with artists such as the Platters, Drifters, Coasters, Shirelles, The Capris, Allman Brothers, Three Dog Night, The Turtles, The Rascals, Chubby Checker, Hall & Oates, Survivor, Todd Rundgren, Bruce Springsteen, and others. Tommy's critical acclaim however, is due to his solo career. His experience and repertoire, his comic personality and impersonations, and his musical mind, which allows him to recall song requests by memory, enable him to suit any type of entertainment need as a one-man entertainer.Some of Tommy's specialties include ethnic favorites, Broadway show tunes, classical piano and timeless classics of the past sixty years. Other audience favorites include works by Billy Joel, Elton John, The Beatles, The Righteous Brothers, The Platters, Drifters, Michael Bolton, Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, Bryan Adams, Journey, Styx, Neil Diamond, Garth Brooks, Lone Star, and other artists. Tommy always has a second microphone on hand for the many other entertainers and musicians who attend his performances, many of whom inspired his solo CD, release in 1995, entitled "Inspirations".His talent, love of music, and unselfish quality, endears him to others. It has also gained him more recognition in the past fifteen years than ever before, and has earned him the title of "musician's musician." and is also called an "entertainer's entertainer". Besides a full schedule of local venues, Tommy's travels on the eastern coast take him from Boston, Massachusetts to Bal Harbor, Florida, often as the entertainment for major corporations such as AT&T, Kiwi Co., Sara Lee, Knoll, Macco, and IBM.
