DE'FEKT's name describes the powerful but simultaneously melodic sides of its music and summarizes the never ending evolution of each one of its members. Formed in 2003, this Puerto Rican quartet had their goals set on creating music packed with sharp force and melodic undertones and so they have. From day one DE'FEKT has been able to deliver not just an impacting live performance locally but internationally, gaining from this not only respect, but a broad and diverse fan base. This band from Puerto Rico finds its way on the next level, playing music that evokes emotion through every note. o With "Are you perfect?" DE'FEKT ends a year of arduous work and much productivity. Totally self-produced, this first album comes out being very representative of the multiple facets of DE'FEKT: force, space, dynamics, melody and melancholy. The production is clean and cohesive, as it emphasizes the love to detail present in each composition. The album flows naturally from beginning to end, each song giving a logical step to the next one. Rigo's voice excels immensely, projecting density on "Break", and demonstrating subtility in songs like "Liquid" and "Aquí". John's expressive guitar complements the voices in an essential way, both elements sounding inseparably interlaced in many occasions. This is perfectly exemplified by the excellent acoustic closing of the album, "You". Is admirable to see how an album produced by they themselves captures the essence of the band with worthy veracity, giving a good indication to the listener what to expect from DE'FEKT in the future. 5/5" - David Maccloskey / Noctambulo Magazine
