Chances are you have never heard of us. We’re the Missoula Venom, Missoula’s FIRST and ONLY full contact woman football team.We are no longer the arm chair quarterbacks our family and friends thought we’d be. Nobody knew it then, but change was on the horizon and still is as we enter our second football season—EVER!Our mission began as only wanting to fulfill the daydreams of putting on pads and a helmet to catch a pass, throw to an open receiver or crush an opponent with a ruinous tackle. So we spent much of our first year learning how to play the game of football. We won some games and we lost some games, but the fun was never ending. Our goal in 2007 is to raise enough money to have a fairly modest football season and to help collaborate with other organizations to support good causes which will add value to our community.$7,500 for season operating costs:
- Game site procurement
- Medical staff
- Officiating staff
- Travel expenses
- Game day and sponsor advertisementFounders: In the spring of 2005, Kim Nyberg and Jason Soper founded the Missoula Valley Venom within the nation wide Independent Women’s Football League in the Sixxes Division. Jason was a coach for the San Diego Seacats, a full contact 11 women football team, and Kim played offensive line. Upon migrating back to Hamilton, MT. the couple held their first practice in Stevensville, which turned out only two interested players. The need to recruit more players moved to Missoula and practice sessions began to fill up. Players ages ranged from 18 to 34.2007 seasons score card:
