Miriamm

The new voice of music, old school funk, new school fierce!

The Voice ~

Having worked with some of music industry's giants, R&B artist Miriamm is a highly sought-after performer, spanning audiences the world over. She most recently toured as Peaches, one half of the classic R&B duo Peaches & Herb, appearing most notably in several installment pledge drives for PBS Broadcasting. Miriamm has also toured Europe with Tony Award winning director George Faison's production of "Sing Mahalia Sing." She has shared her gift in countless shows and appearances, including performances at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Winter Olympics, NBA & NFL half-time events, John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Magic Johnson Foundation, National Medical Association, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Miriamm released her second CD entitled, "Road of Peace" April 2008.

The Philanthropist ~

At the age of 10, Miriamm lost her mother to breast cancer. Driven by a desire to carry on her mother's legacy, Miriamm founded the non-profit organization the Edith P. Wright Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc (EPW), whose mission is to assist persons and families facing breast cancer with their practical day-to-day living.

Miriamm recorded her first release entitled, "Miriamm…Live! @ Blues Alley" in an effort to promote breast cancer awareness. This solo CD, dubbed as her "passion project," is hailed by many as a remarkable tribute to her mother, Edith P. Wright, as well as to Minnie Riperton, both of whom succumbed to breast cancer while only in their 30s. The CD has also been recognized as an excellent tool for educating the community on the issue of breast cancer awareness.

Miriamm has donated her time, talents, and resources in an effort to aid in the fight against breast cancer. In addition to performing for American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and the National Coalition of Cancer Survivorship, Miriamm wrote and produced a play entitled, "Sounding the Alarm," which continues the theme of education by dispelling many of the myths surrounding breast cancer. In October 2007, through EPW, Miriamm headlined "A Concert of Love: Honoring Breast Cancer Survivors," at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The Entrepreneur ~

As founder and partner of JasMar WorldWide, LLC (JasMar), Miriamm is actively engaged in the community, furthering the company's mission of "serving the community through music, art and education." Annually, Miriamm participates in numerous educational events, where she has the distinct honor of performing and serving as a speaker and panelist. As a supporter of the arts, Miriamm shares, "A part of the vision of JasMar is to provide empowerment to the community through education and artistic expression."

Miriamm is a member of National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment, Washington Area Music Association, Songwriters Association of Washington, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
