The Freaks

About Me

We are a three piece 50's/60's inspired garage rock/punk group from the South East coast of England. We love all things trashy and retro. Here's a brief history of the band. We (jesse guitars/vocals , and Craig /drums) formed around the late winter of 2004, wrote a whole bunch of songs, spent most of that winter looking for a bass player. In january 2005 we found a girl called Emily, played together for about a month. On Febuary the 26th & 27th that year we recorded our first demo at Toe Rag studios in London. The demo consisted of 13 tracks all recorded live, three of which can be found on our official website. CLICKHERE FOR MORE FREAKSEmily left late in 2005 as Garage punk wasn't really her thing. Later that year, we found a 'rockin' guy called Martin, who's love of all things Garage Punk related showed no bounds. On December 13, we booked into Gizzard Studios in London, and recorded 5 new tracks with Ed Deegan. Four of these are available on this page. One reviewer has described our music as the twisted offspring of The Stooges and early Kinks music, but we'll let you make your own minds up on that. We are always up for shows, and touring. If you'e a band that plays similar music to ours, and need a support band for a tour, give us a shout. Our cover of The Sonics 'He's Waiting' "The Gallows" and 'At Midnight'
