Part The Veil, had their first appearance during an unusual event -- having typhoon as one of its spectators. Yet they pushed through and made it as a starting ground to collaborate with other artists.
It's quite surprising when Jakarta Man decided to leave for Manila to finish his studies at Diliman. The original members of Jakarta Experience (minus Peter; he's now doing sessions with Headshot by Knife) began to bubble up the project, they coveted to express what life had to give them. As young musicians, it was a game for them: encountering disillusionment and try keeping up with the pack. Still, they had to understand what music was really all about. With the current experiences and trend they were going through, it heightened their awareness of what they are today.
Part The Veil, has never been a one-note band nor have they stuck to the so-called "emo"-mood writeups. Life has everything to give, espousing what their minds had to tell them and make their materials come to life. Now that Ryan, Lutz, Earl and Jason has been baptised as part of the family, a palpable sense of catharsis has been slowly molded to create a blackhole that would suck up all those negative entities and give music a clean name.
While having time constraints in the runs, they had to restructure the lineup...AGAIN. It happened one time, when they had to play without a bass player, so they decided to stick with that revised setup. Every now and then, they had to improvise everything from drum patterns and hardpounding speed picking of the guitars just to cover up the missing pieces.
This kind of tapestry was closely knitted by a seemingly endless array of rhythmic guitar theatrics, explosive drumming and collaborative songcraft. As some friends would say, we don't give a shit about what people think about them...hmm.. positive criticism. They would just crank out the post-modern headbangers and continue what was to be enjoyed. Its only music by the way, it won't hurt you.
