Golden Dirt is about friendship. It all began in the 90s, when Hendryk Martin and Gerd Kornmann – both at the time involved in hardcore and metal bands – took to the practice room with a couple of drinks and laid the foundation for what was later to become Golden Dirt. "My Dirt" and "Red Sky Mine", two fully acoustic, magical songs, were written at this time, recorded on a cassette radio and feted. Almost ten years later, coincidence brought the two together again in Cologne, where they went into the studio and picked up exactly where they had left off all those years ago.
The musical intimacy and bond between these two musicians fosters the minimalistic symbiosis of their guitar sound and that very special voice. Like a whisper at your ear, transported instantly to your very core; impressions, moments, instances of two lives no different than any other, captured in music. Songs whose candour will leave you speechless. Unobtrusive beauty, a view of the world and life through a coloured, slightly melancholy filter.
