I can assure you that you will enjoy the novel, A Night In New Orleans.
The family structure which is included in this work is similar to many communities in
Pre-Katrina New Orleans. In fact, the story involves three families which are related
Through marriage. First there is the Baxter family, a “well-to-do†African-American family
with old money and political power. Judge Ansel Baxter is the patriarch of the
Baxter family, and he makes a most unethical deal with a notorious and very powerful
drug lord.
The Renoir family is a lower middle class family of devout Roman Catholics.
The Renoirs are a Creole family that is of French and African-American ancestry.
The Renoirs’ daughter, Dr. Elaine Renoir Baxter is married to Ansel Baxter’s son, Alexander Baxter, the former NBA star and founder and president/CEO of A. Baxter
Advertising Agency, Inc.
Mary Evangeline Renoir, who is known to everyone as Cheeky Red, is the black sheep of the Renoir family. This vixen is also known for her shapely figure, beauty, creating
drama and having many male companions and sometimes engaging in illegal scandals.
The Valdensteins and Baxter’s were united by a forbidden marriage which ended in murder. As a result of this unfortunate situation, the two families are now inseparable.
The Valdensteins are an extremely wealthy and unorthodox Jewish family which reigns
supreme in the fashion, cosmetic, and banking industries.
