About Me

“JUICE” - Born A. Mark Thompson in the heart of North Nashville, Tennessee. Growing up, Juice’s father was not a part of his life, but he had the unconditional love of his mother who introduced him at a young age to old school music like Curtis Mayfield, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder and Sly Stone to name a few. The T.V. show “Yo MTV Raps” inspired Juice to want to become an artist himself. Freestyling is the way he got his reputation in Nashville with his catchy lyrics. Juice’s cousin, Djuan aka “Yellaboy” was building up a reputation as a rapper as well. The two bounced around with various groups, mainly due to break ups caused by other members leaving as a result of imprisonment, drugs, or death until they decided to become Juice and Yellaboy. “Juice grabs your attention vocally then picks you up in the middle of the verse and drops you on your head when he finishes his rhyme,” says DJ Ron of the Ruff Ryder DJ’s. He has a real nose for sniffing out a nice track for the rap duo, and has a niche for adding a slick delivery anytime he is featured on a track.“YELLABOY” - Djuan Thompson of North Nashville, Tennessee was a part of the music scene as a youngster who watched his father DJ parties. Yella was active in sports growing up and although he received a football scholarship, his interest in rap music always came first. He began working with his musically gifted best friend, Lil Corey. However, Lil Corey was shot to death leaving Yella to fill a void in music. Yellaboy freestyled with his partner and cousin, Juice, until they figured out that they had some catchy music and wanted to put it on wax to show all the local scene that they could do it and do it more consistently. Yella has an undeniable swagger that is reminisce of artist Lil Boosie but on whole different delivery and lyrical content. He is the catalyst behind the majority of the hooks and concepts of the rap group, and is into more of the business side of things as far as the group is concerned. “Yellaboy has a knack for coming up with catchy hooks and intense lyrics that people can’t help but realize who they are listening to. His business sense is getting stronger as the group networks and gets a buzz established in their city,” says J. Lawrence Hill of Next Step Music Management. Yellaboy is young in the game but has the hustle and knowledge to make things happen as an artist. Their first EP/album “Heavy Rotation” is produced by up and coming producer Nyse and has a song by the highly acclaimed producer Fate Eastwood. This EP will lead off with the singles “Super Clean,“ “Bout That Drama,” “Pop Off” produced by Fate Eastwood, and “Throw Ya Hood.” Juice and Yellaboy have had the opportunity to go on tour and open up for rap artists like Lil Boosie, Webbie, Young Buck, Bow Wow, B.G., Yo Gotti, Shop Boys, and Crime Mob before their first project even dropped. They have performed in popular venues in Nashville including The Municipal Auditorium, Club 615, Level 88, John Henry’s, Juice Bar, The Muse, The Elks Lodge and Chef Raymonds in Murfreesboro, TN, The Complex in Memphis, TN, Club Diesel in Columbia, TN, and Studio 231 in Gadsden, Alabama. There will be plenty of heat in store for the streets of Tennessee and the whole southern region. Juice and Yellaboy will change the look of the hip hop and rap scene and cause all artists to step up their game.
