Seriously... I'm getting married soon and I need the money!
Movies, music, friends, reading, writing, video games, SCUBA! and burnable art. I have a number of weird hobbies that I try for a while and then switch to something else. Blacksmithing and weapons making were the last weird activities (See my pictures for a helmet I made). Currently I am home brewing Mead. For the uninitiated, that's wine made from honey instead of grapes. I've had pretty good luck with the last few batches. I'm never sure when something strange will crop up again!
Some favorite quotes:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
-Marianne Williamson
"We are the only creatures that both laugh and weep. I think it's because we are the only creatures that see the difference between the way things are and the way they might be. Tears bring relief. Laughter brings release.
-Robert Fulghum
"As often as I feel certain that God exists, I feel as often at a loss to say what difference it makes... that he exists... or even: that to believe in God, which I do, raises more questions than it presents answers. Thus, when I am feeling my most faithful, I also feel full of a few hard questions that I would like to put to God - I mean critical questions of the How-Can-He, How-Could-He, and How-Dare-You variety."
-John Irving
A Prayer For Owen Meany
"From birth, Man carries the weight of gravity of his shoulders. He is bolted to Earth. But man has only to sink beneath the surface and he is free. Buoyed by water, he can fly in any direction: up, down, sideways. Underwater, Man becomes Archangel."
-Jacques Cousteau
"It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."
-Thomas Jefferson
"Little is the number that think with their own mind and feel with their own heart."
-Einstein
"You can run from your pain, but take it from experience: you will tire before it does."
-Gerrard to Crovax
"When my tantrum, which is what I call my TV set, waves boobs in my face, and tells me that everybody but me is going to get laid tonight, and this is a national emergency, so I’ve got to rush out and buy pills or a car or a folding gymnasium I can hide under my bed, I laugh like a hyena. I know and you know there are millions upon millions of good Americans, present company not excepted, who aren’t going to get laid tonight."
-Kurt Vonnegut
"Let me tell you: if you go to Mapquest.com and click ‘Driving Directions’ and enter your own name as the starting address and ‘HELL’ as the destination, you may be surprised to find out how short the distance really is, excluding potential traffic issues or unexpected delays.â€

I would love to meet a host of cool people here on myspace (so long as it's a manageable amount... I think keeping up with your friends is important!) There are famous people I'd like to meet too, but I'm not going to boor you with that! Anybody who muddled through my entire bio and wants to be friends anyway! *smiles* Tune in, turn on, and let's whisper dreams around the room!
I love classic rock. The BIGS! Zep, Floyd, Beatles etc. I love electronica and rave stuff. I like some off kilter stuff too like "The Squirrel Nut Zippers" and "They Might be Giants!" If it has a driving beat... If it makes me MOVE... If it's lyrically strong... Chances are I'll like it!
If I had to pick a favorite song... hit "PLAY" and dream a little.
YOU MAY SAY I"M A DREAMER, BUT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!
I miss you like crazy John!
.. .. ..
I can't wait for Gunther to do a duet with David Hasselhoff! (Maybe that would be too much sexy for the room though!)
One of the coolest thing I've EVER seen! These guys are hardcore for their art and I love them for it!
This movie would have sucked a whole lot less if there was a whole lot more of this! Excuse the geek drool at the corners of my mouth...
If you are a FPS gamer, you know why this is funny!
Movies
Too many to choose. Most of the time I'll like something if it is filmed well. I mean
that you can tell that the maker put effort into every frame. The lighting, the look of the film, the framing, and the sequece editing are all important to me. I like movies where it is apparent that the director, cast, and crew loved the story and was out to tell it as honestly as possible. Movie making is an art and it should be apparent who is an artist, and who is trying to get asses in seats at eight bucks a pop.
The singularity is inevitable. Let's be a little more careful out there!
Firefly! (FOX BASTARDS CANCELLED IT!)
Family Guy, MYTHBUSTERS!, Chappell Show,
Simpsons,
Futurama (Zapp Brannigan is a golden god!),
South Park,
Aqua Teen, Star Trek (TOS and TNG)
West Wing,
Smallville (Picked it up in re-runs. Wanted to hate it... couldn't.)
Who's line is it anyway?
M.A.S.H.
Montey Python's Flying Circus! I hate the hell out of reality T.V. (I like the fact that I think of being lectured by Mr. Brady when I use "hell" in my television section!)
Das' right... FABULOUS!
What Aquateen Hunger Force charchter are you?
You are Oglethorpe, the dude from Pluto who has all this stuff but doesn't quite no how to use any of it. You think you're great but you're not exactly sure why and no one else is either.

Anything "Crichton", Most of "Anne Rice". "Tolkien" is an absolute god! "William Gibson", "T.H. Laurance", "Asimov", "Phillip K. Dick", "Neal Stephenson". I could go on, but all of it fiction and most of it science. Also, "Harry Potter" (It's really too clever to hate). Some things I recently read and now recommend: "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel, and "The Art of War" by Sun Tzo. (It's really more of a philosophy for gaining advantage in nearly every aspect of your life, than practical war making advice.) I was also just introduced to "Thomas Harris" in the form of "Red Dragon" and ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE with his prose. My gauge for good art is if I feel I could have done the same or better job, it isn't all that great. I know I will never be the writer this guy is and I am comforted that he is around and jealous of his genius at the same time. My only regret is all the hopelessly mediocre crap I had to wade through to find him!
My family mostly. They have saved me in a number of bad situations. My Father, Mother, my step mother, and my Brother have all saved my life in different ways. They are my heros of reality.....
If we are going to go for the lighter answer: My favorite comic book hero was "Spider Man", because he was the first "real guy" I ever saw in a comic. Peter Parker had family problems, woman problems, school problems, and somehow managed to fight crime through it all. I even remembered an issue where he had a cold and kept sneezing into his mask. That's just good stuff!
