About Me

Peter Bellaert aka Brian Koner (Belgium) started as a producer in electronic dance music at the end of the 80´s when the "new beat" era reached it´s top.
It all began at a very young age when Peter was experiencing the creativity of making music by using lots of tools. When he was 18 he bought his first synthesizer so the game could begin.
The very first release (Roger Moore Is Burried) was signed in 1991 to Snowball Records and lots of famous deejays played this one loud! At the beginning you could comparise Peter´s style with oldskool sounds such as "L.A. Style" (known from the smashing hit "James Brown Is Dead"). After that, Peter started to work with the guys from Reload / Big Time Int. Records & he signed his project "Virus" (Monk) to their sub-label 21st Century Rec.
In 1995 he produced some successful tracks for USA Import Rec. (on the labels: Humanity, Label X, Atom, Dark Music, ...) where he released different projects called Skycat, Cityman, Push 4, Punch 1, Sensor, 2 Maniacs, Antiserum X, Trondogs, Dj Lingo, ...
Somewhere in 1997 he collaborated with Antwerp based Byte Records (the company that founded 2 Unlimited). Peter created a whole new dance-sound with his new projects. Lots of tracks are still being broadcasted on the radio; do you still remember the freaky sounds from ... Atlantis 6 (The New Style, Life´s A Mystery, Give It To Me, Set Me Free), NRGY (Jump Like A Monkey, Dripping Wet), Virgo (The Game, Gamemania), The Rippers (Fuck Like A Donkey), Rithro (Orgasm).
The beat went straight on & on and other records companies wanted some musical madness from Mr. Skycat. Catchy Tunes (EMI Music) signed the project "Dj Gotcha" (Femma Fatale) & Mercury Records made him a deal for a track called Dahli: Welcome To My Paradise. Somewhere at the end of the 90´s, Peter launched his own record labels together with ARS Productions. Cooldriver, Kickdriver & Afterburner became his own imprints which caused some very good reactions on tracks as: Hi-Per (Gimme More), Evo (Sound Of The Drums, supported by Dj Tiesto) Monomania (La Musica), Kix & Kool (I Can´t Get Enough), Lambo Traxx, ...
That period, Peter got involved with other producers. He signed to Roadrunner / Arcade music, nowadays transformed into Mostiko Records / CNR music. He started to create lots of new alter egoes: Dj Millow, Darkly Basic, Trancid & Ddee, Da Tech Club, but up till now he´s reached his biggest success with Minimalstix! The first release "Struggle For Pleasure" became a massive radio & clubhit (with a subliminal Filterheadz remix on it), so as a matter of course he put lots of energy in it. The following singles "Twin Peaks Theme" & "Breaking The Waves" sounded more club-trancy but it was the fourth release, "Close Cover" which ruled big time! Worldwide, this song entered the official charts at a very high position. The first Minimalistix album ("Elements") was a fact and soon Peter was asked to do remixes for lots of international artists (The Taveller & In Motion, Dj Sammy, 4 Strings, Ian Van Dahl, Red Square, Kira, Ayu Hamakasi, Flesh & Bones, ...
After a break and some studio engineering for East European artists it´s time to let Minimalistix rise from its grave.
