..Ignacio “Iggy†Elisavetsky was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He started playing guitar professionally at age 15.
His first recording and touring band “Caballo Vapor†(Horse Power) was a 7 piece band reminiscent of Edgar Winter and White trash.
When he turned 17, he was called to play guitar and fill in the shoes of now famous producer - writer and Oscar Winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel) in one of the major and influential bands from Argentina, “Arco Irisâ€
At that age, he became close friends with singer songwriter
Alejandro Lerner.
Alejandro’s friendship will develop later with the participation of many music projects together.
At age 22 Ignacio decided to emigrate to the US and auditioned for a great “gig†with a “Las Vegas†style 7 piece showband “Bernadette and the Sunshine Company†in Honolulu, Hawaii. He played in the band for 3 years and toured supporting the band.
When Alejandro Lerner became a major star in Argentina, Alejandro kept his promise of reuniting them so he joined his friend back in Argentina for a 6 month South American tour playing guitar and singing background vocals.
Later on that year, Ignacio went to New York City to record and co-produce Alejandro Lerner’s album â€Algo que decirâ€.
Ignacio had the chance to learn working with seasoned Engineer / Producer Humberto Gatica (Celine Dione, Chicago, David Foster, Luis Miguel) on another project for Alejandro Lerner called “Amor Infinito†were he was also the co-producer.
Back in the US, Ignacio moved to Houston where he opened his own recording studio and formed the band “Seres†with Brian Torres and Carlo Cansella.
Their album titled “Asi va, asi es†was signed to Virgin Records and it became a hit in the Latin radio stations getting national airplay.
Ignacio engineered, mixed, programmed drums, played guitar, bass and shared part of the composition credits. The first single “El vicio de vivir†was the title cut for the miniseries of the same name that ran in the Telemundo Networks.
In July 2002 Alejandro Lerner and Iggy Elisavetsky set their home base and recording facility in the city of Los Angeles.
Composing recording and mixing songs for Alejandro’s upcoming album and at the same time producing and recording with some of the best up and coming singer songwriters from L.A.
Their full production studio served as a solid base where hits like “Despues de Ti†(composed by Alejandro and Iggy) was launched as the first video and single of the “Buen Viaje†CD release that won Alejandro a nomination for the 2004 Latin Grammy’s.
After 5 years in the City of Angels Ignacio honed his composition, production and engineering skills by working with many talented songwriters and composers.
On the following Alejandro Lerner CD “Canciones para Gente niña†Iggy recorded, played guitars and bass and mixed part of the CD.
On the latest Alejendro Lerner CD "Enojado" (produced by Humberto Gatica) Iggy played guitar and shared composition credits with Alejandro on two songs.
After working with different artisists and music styles, Iggy composed with the help of Daniel Hamuy (Composer, Orchestrator) the music for a 8 short films on Multi-Displays being shown in Madrid at the Metro Museum.
Iggy worked on two other film projects with Daniel Hamuy playing guitars and mixing the full soundtracks ("Vampira" and a spaghetti Western commedy "The Outlaw Emmett Deemus and the porn star").
Iggy shared composition credits and produced, recorded and mixed on the 2008 Los Angeles 48 Hours film festival movie "Life After" (Directed by Carl Hansen) wich won the "Best Music" award.
A friendship with composer Eddie Del Barrio (Caldera, composer of Earth Wind and Fire's "Fantasy" and "Running" among other songs)
turned into music contribution where Iggy played guitar, engineered and Mixed the music for the movie "The Witches of Portobello" (Paulo Coelho).
Recently Iggy is been working with Fabian Jolivet on his "Congo Square" project and recording, editing and mixing a brand new artist named "Maya"
