About Me

Hello :)
I'm Paul, a nineteen year-old undergraduate reading BA (Hons) English Studies and Media Studies at the University of Glamorgan (South East Wales). Far from being Welsh, I am an Essex lad (nowhere near being the stereotypical sort) who has relocated to Cornwall. I have a very odd sense of humour in that I love surrealism but am very, very dry and sarcastic, so I'm pretty easily amused.
I'm very shy about talking to people, but enjoy it all the same. Intelligent conversation and a bit of silliness is what I like in a person! Below are a few facts about me or opinions that I hold:
I am quickly becoming obsessed with photography. I have a Canon 350D and some cheap lenses; the most expensive part of my kit is my wishlist!
I am a socialist. Not a communist (I just find the hammer and sickle looks cool :D), although some times I pretend to confuse Americans. I have a particular interest in Marxism and Trotskyism.
I am entirely addicted to LUCOZADE! Especially Wild Berry flavour, hehe.
Everyone from any background should have the right to free healthcare and a state-funded education.
I am not gay or bi, but I still do not understand why guys cannot compliment other guys on their looks without having to assert their masculinity.
A dude should always be a gentleman to his lady.
Chips and gravy are not just for Northerners.
I am a prescriptivist when it comes to spelling and punctuation. I can be really annoying. :D
Bad days are there to make you appreciate the good ones.
Anna is short. And Cornish. :D
I adore Ruthie more than anything else. :)
Mashed potatoes that still have the skins in are not wrong! It's where all the goodness is, I reckon (and it gives you something to bite!).
Stephen Fry is God. Boris Johnson is his assistant.

My Interests

All sorts :)

I am usually quite open-minded, but my main interests revolve around photography, my beautiful girlfriend :), reading, the internet, watersports, going to the pub, and having a good time with mates; I am a student, after all!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone decent! I like fun people with similar senses of humour, but who are not the overly out-going and full-of-themselves sort. I'd give almost anyone a chance, though!

For the most part I detest celebrities, but exceptions would include Stephen Fry, Patrick Stewart, Bill Bailey, Noam Chomsky, Gordon Ramsey, and Sandy Thomson. I'd have a hard time working out what to say to them, so perhaps it's just as well that it's doubtful I'd meet them, haha.

Nineteen Eighty Four, Elephant Song, The Raging Quiet, Oxford English Dictionary (now that's a book!), Bravo Two Zero, Eats Shoots And Leaves, Talk To The Hand, and a bunch of (auto)biographies and other stuff. The Times and The Guardian aren't bad, either.
