About Me

RGLan 5- Southern Oregon's Premiere LAN Party event!
Visit RGLan.com for more information!!If there is anything that you need to know first and foremost about me is that I am a gaming junkie, be it PC games, console games, card games, or RPG's (both CRPG and p&p RPG). I'm also a comic book fan, techie, and all-around geek. Go me. :) However, above all, I'm laid-back, easy-going, and (hopefully) a fun person to just hang out with. I'm definitely a person that enjoys the least amount of drama in their life as possible.

Basically I created this page to have some form of creative outlet that may or may not attract viewers. I guess we will see what happens!

So what sort of games do I enjoy? Well, there is the old stand-by of D&D , which I do play often and is the game I've played the longest. Other p&p games I enjoy are Dark Fate, a homebrew Tech Noir game that has a loyal local following amongst our cadre of gamers. Dark Fate is a convergence of several flavors of sci-fi RPGs, such as Shadowrun , RIFTS , and Heroes Unlimited. Star Wars d20 is also on the list, one in which I am the GM and lead my hapless players into all sorts of mischief. :)

Let us not forget anything within the horror genre, such as Call of Cthulhu , Vampire: The Masquerade , and the Ravenloft D&D campaign setting. I know that I have som Mythos propaganda on my page, but I enjoy anything of the gothic/horror vien (Vampires, zombies, etc).

Beyond gaming I also enjoy reading about the history of the world, it's beliefs, feelings, thoughts and what drives people to be the way they are. I believe we need to have a firm understanding about where we come from if we are to have any idea about where we are headed.

Another thing that I have interest in is history, ancient folklore, and modern urban legends. These can include creation myths, ghost stories, prophecies, etc. It's not anything I obsess over, but I do find it interesting. I love watching shows on the History Channel or the Discovery Channel about ancient civilizations, their beliefs, their culture, I find such things very fascinating.

I look forward to talking with anyone with similar interests or not. Also please feel free to chat with me about anything! Thanks! :)

My Interests

My interests are pretty broad, there isn't much I'm *not* interested in. I like traveling, reading, working on computers, playing games/gaming, creative writing, movies/TV, camping, some sports such as hockey and baseketball, and watching Rally Car racing.

I have a strong interest in the supernatural such as ghosts, spirits, evidence of the afterlife, etc. I'm not a fanatic about it, but it is something that has always interested me. I also study aspects of mysticism and how they apply to the paranormal. I also have a great interest in just learning about other cultures, beliefs, and languages. I'm into learning about WHY we believe they way we do, and how folklore and superstition shape modern views.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is outgoing, polite, has a good sense of humor (black humor, campy humor, etc), likes to speak their mind but is also tactful, confident, open-minded, and enjoys exprimenting with different things in life. Being into gaming is a plus, but it is not necessary for it to be the center of your life. :)

Music:

What you listen to can always tell a lot about a person. I'm open to listening or trying various genre's of music, but of course I have my favorites and my non-favorites. Non-favorites include virtually anything Country-Western and Gangster Rap, Opera, and most Punk (sorry). I like a lot of Metal, and sub-genres of metal (melodic, dark, industrial, goth, etc), but I also like various alternative music and even some classical and hip-hop. To give you an idea, here is a sampling of some of my favorite bands/groups: The Gathering, Epica, Within Temptation, Nox Arcana, Midnight Syndicate, Godsmack, Filter, Disturbed, Prong, Pantera, Anthrax, White Zombie, Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, etc.

Movies:

Without a doubt movies that fall into the sci-fi, horror, adventure, and (dark) comedy genres. I like old films or new films, and if it's got a good story and decent acting I'm usually enthused about it. If I had to list a few I would say Star Wars original trilogy, The Eye, Army of Darkness, Indiana Jones, Underworld, The Burbs, Dawn of The Dead, Queen of The Damned, Reincarnation, Undead, Ghost in The Shell, Encounters of the Spooky Kind, The Gravedancers, Nosferatu, Mr. Vampire, Horror of Dracula, The Plague of The Zombies, House on Haunted Hill, The Thing, Return of The Living Dead, Serenity, Shaun of The Dead, and many, many more!

Television:

TV falls pretty much into the same vein as movies. However, I do not watch much TV in general, but I like Supernatural, Smallville, BSG, B5, Firefly, Angel, Buffy, etc. I also enjoy anime such as Cowboy Bebop, Witch Hunter Robin, Boogiepop Phantom, Neon Genesis, Ghost in The Shell: Standalone Complex, Hellsing, etc.

Books:

I also tend to enjoy books that fall into the above mentioned genres, but I'm also not opposed to sitting down and reading a book on some events in history or something of the like, it doesn't always have to be fiction. To give you an idea, here are some of my favorite authors: Robert Bloch, Robert Jordan, David Eddings, David J. Schow, Algernon Blackwood, H.P. Lovecraft, E.A. Poe, Clark Ashton Smith, Ramsey Campbell, R.A. Salvatore, Manly Wade Wellman, Anne Rice, Joyce Carol Oates, and many more. Comics and graphic novels are BIG favorites of mine. My personal collection is small, ~750-800 issues, but I treasure the adventure and escapism they offer to a high degree.
