About Me

With the release of his long awaited EP "Please Remember", singer-songwriter (and surfer), Ian Walsh, is a stand-out among the new wave of singer-songwriters that currently dominate the airwaves and the internet. Ian’s music has been described as “raw and powerful as well as honest and intimate”. Songs such as "Perfect Sense" and "Apology" are excellent examples of Ian’s considerable range as a songwriter. The new EP, which is available on KiK Records, was produced by Ritchie Rubini (The Caulfields) and recorded and mixed by Nick DiDia (Velvet Revolver and Bruce Springsteen). The EP also features appearances by Derek Furhmann, Tyler Ingersoll and Jamie Orlando from The Crash Motive (formerly Omnisoul) and Cam Tyler on drums. The EP’s five songs: "Supposed To Be", "Perfect Sense", "Apology", "Familiar Place", and "Goodbye" are strong representations of Ian Walsh as a solo artist.
At eighteen, Ian is a multi-talented musician, playing bass, guitar and piano on his new EP. At his live shows, Ian is joined by Cam Tyler on drums, Cliff Hillis and Brad Newsom on guitars and Ritchie Rubini on keyboards.
Ian’s studio session work led him to producer, Ritchie Rubini. Ian played bass on recent Rubini recording projects for Amanda Kaletsky, Cliff Hillis, Ashley Melnick and Kathryn Mundy. Ian and Ritchie worked together so well on these projects that Ian knew only Ritchie Rubini could produce his new EP. It also led to the co-writing of "Goodbye", a powerful, heartfelt song that caught the ear of film producers, Michael and Janeen Damian.
"Goodbye" will be included in the soundtrack for "Moondance Alexander", a feature length motion picture which is scheduled to be released in theaters across the nation this October by 20th Century Fox. "Moondance Alexander" is a Michael Damian film that stars Kay Panabaker, Lori Loughlin, Sasha Cohen and Don Johnson. Ian and Cam will be performing "Goodbye" at the premier of Moondance Alexander in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 20.
"Goodbye" is also charting on the AC/Hot AC Main Chart and has been added to over 35 radio stations across the country. "Goodbye" is now No. 21 on the Hot AC/Top 40 Chart/NMW and No. 35 on the Top 100 Chart/NMW. Thanks everyone!!
The collaboration with Ritchie Rubini also led to Nick DiDia who recorded and mixed "Please Remember". Nick DiDia is simply the best recording engineer in the music business today. Nick’s engineering credits include such greats as Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, AudioSlave, Velvet Revolver and Bruce Springsteen.
Ian is currently promoting "Please Remember". Ian also returned to Hammerhead Studios on July 17 to track 6 new songs for a follow up EP. Cam Tyler is back on drums. Ritchie Rubini is also back in the Producer's chair and Nick Didia is back at the console. The new EP is scheduled for release in early 2008.
