what I can do for you

About Me

I'll tell you a story. I've got lots of them...like how I was arrested in France when I was 16, or the time I hitch-hiked to Rome, or the one about the little pelican who bit an elephant's ass. This one's the story of my first love. If you know her let me know. The first girl I ever liked was named Betsy. I told her I liked her in the coat closet in first grade. Suddenly the windows got steamy and I found her an inch from my face. With loads of zest she punched me in the gut and told me to never like her again. A week later she invited me over to her place for a play date. Yup, and I still got it...if life has a purpose, I'm out to get it. I'd rather know (and get gut punches) than to be blissfully oblivious. That's my drive in life and it necessitates a sense of purpose. I like to read between life's lines and seek a a deeper meaning to all the incidentals of life. I knew there was something behind Betsy's punch. If you figure it out, let me know.

My Interests

I'm an aspiring connoisseur in hobbies. Food is top of the list--cooking but especially eating. Photography--especially photojournalism. I used to do a lot of darkroom collages but am geared more digitally now. Socializing, intense conversation, people watchingtravel (and not "spring-break"-travel). DANCING!! To any music. I'm pretty damn good too.

I'd like to meet:

passionate & socially conscious folks. Hippies, you could say, but with less tie-dye and better hygiene. Mature enough to know how important saturday morning cartoons are. Loves culture, cooking/eating, profoundly deep. unquestionably sexy.

Music:

pretty eclectic and always changing. Today its lamb--Gabriel. Anything dance-able. I love Persian, Iranian, Arabic music. If you think latin dance is sexy, you haven't seen what we can do.

Movies:

Foreign films for sure, things that make you go hmmm, american history x for instance, funny stuff like 40 year old virgin (I love that scene where he's trying to pee!),

Television:

I no longer own a tv. Otherwise its like crack to me. I used to watch the Daily Show w/ John stuart, Simpsons, office, but i find that not owning a tv forces me to be unproductive in entirely new ways.

Books:

I have lots. They tend to be ones that shape or inspire how I think--Salinger's Catcher in the Rye, huxley's Brave new world, Hess's Demian, kundera's unbearable lightness of being, anything dickenson or twain, 1984, oodles of others.

Heroes:

my left toenail. my little sister
