My name is Jose Francisco Lorenzo, but my friends call me "Francis". I was born in 1971 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Canary Islands). At the age of 18 I begin my training in Aikido with Gordon Brown Sensei, the introductor of this Martial Art on the Islands. Three years later I met Sifu Pedro Valencia with I begin the practique of Tai Chi Chuan. While those years I was studing Acupunture, so that helped me for understanding all the new concepts.
Beginnings were very hard and complicated, but there were too much ilusion so, with 26 years old I opened the first Center in Tenerife dedicated in exclusive to the Martial Arts.
From April, 2006 I get 4º Dan from Aikikai under the technical supervision of my Sensei John Rogers (6º Dan from Aikikai and President of the Irish Aikido Federation) and I continue the practice of Tai Chi Chuan under the Hun Yuan Spain Asociation being Regional Agent.
Me and another friends of trainning, we have continuated the legacy that Gordon Brown Sensei left when he had to come back to England, The ACAFC (Aikikai Fundación Canarias) with more than 20 years, and we use to organizate many seminaries all through the years.
