WE HAVE OUR WEBSITE UP & RUNNING! http://www.westendlongboardriders.co.nz Kia Ora-Welcome to our club profile page!The West End Longboard Riders club is into its 2nd year.We are a registered non-profit organisation.We are located in the North Island of New Zealand,in a place called Ohope.Our main surfing spot here is called West End(thats it on our page background);which is very user friendly(both surfing wise & location wise).About 80% of our club members ride shortboards as well but West End is predominatly a longboard wave,however we have held the odd shortboard comp.The club aims to have between 6-8 surf competitions a year.These comps are very relaxed & it is a great opportunity to try each others boards.We have noticed the level of surfing has greatly improved,especially amongst the juniors,since we started the comps.Also the 'vibe' in the water is very relaxed,since almost everybody now knows each other(its hard to drop in on someone you know!)We have Junior,Womens and Open divisions;anyone can enter.Great family atmosphere with most members having young children who just hang out and play at the beach.Next comp will be advertised by blog,so subscribe to it if your keen.(or nosey!)If you live locally & wish to join,it costs $20 per person per year.We have this seasons club t-shirts($30.00)available.The hoodies($50.00)sold out in the first week!Caps($20)are available now!Leave a message for any orders or enquiries. Surfers-near&far We would love interested surfers to add us,as we have decided not to chase people & do friend requests.This way we cant be accused of stalking,haha. (We have made friend requests to surf companies,organizations & industries who may be interested in,& interesting to,our members) Friends:We appreciate your messages & comments to us.Any questions/queries are welcomed & answered.(Although the quality of the replies depends on who is on 'editor' duty!)
