About Me

As a kid I saw the Benny Goodman Story and knew that from that day forward I was going to be a musician. I wanted to play the clarinet at that time because it was the first instrument I remember seeing and was captivated by it. Years of hinting around to my dad didn't pay off until one year for Christmas, my father gave me a guitar. Knowing him, I'm sure he was thinking, "no son of mine is going to play a clarinet". I took to it like it was a basic survival need like air, water, and food. I had to make up my own tuning because there was no one around to show me the basics. I immediately started writing simple songs that eventually became the building blocks that fueled a lifelong quest of self expression through songwriting. I've had many influences but I never gave much thought to learning thier music. My live performances have included playing with "Frank Calvagna and Opanjii", a kick ass Jazz phenomenon that has played between Madison Wi. to St. Louis Mo.. Come out to one of my shows. Clap your hands or throw something at me(preferably greenbacks), doesn't matter to me. Just come out.Myspace Layout Stealer

Sounds Like: the squeak in the chain of my long gone grandmas porch swing back in the woods of Southern Illinois. The way hot, black coffee sounds as it is poured into my favorite mug on a cold sunday morning. My childrens voices echoeing in my memory of memories of memories of memories...

The life of a guitar string
