I'd like to meet:
This question has no sense... All the people who like these sounds and all the culture that go with it are welcome!
ENGLISH:
Ghetto Boss sound system? It's two 60's lovers who selected the best jamaïcan sounds produced between 1962 & 1972.
Gus Buster & London'69 met during evenings animated by one or the other. Moreover, as far as this mythic decade is concerned, and the ska, rocksteady & early reggae feeding their common passion, they abundantly exchanged about the topic...'Till that very day, when the idea imposed itself to them, knowing that the two mates' collections included not that a little pure masterpiece, they had to do somethin' together.
From now on, from time to time, they animate evenings in a new form where each one has his own turntable, discs and pass his own music... in turn. It's a kind of clash without being one!
What's certain now, is that the intense musical moments aren't rare so much the positive emulation boosts our two DJ's! You just have to open wide your ears, or better, let the ghetto vibes pass in your cortex...
Music:
It's All about 60's black music!
Movies:
Recenttly, The Last King Of Scotland and Dream Girls were very nice both... Waiting for Oi! This Is England.
And you can see a part of my cinema selection (non exhaustive, cause I like a lot of films from cinema'birth to now, with Hollywood classics, independants, asian, italian, french, english and many others movies styles) on the site, with titles like The Harder They Come, Rockers, Ray, The Commitments, Blow Up, Mississippi Burning, Sweet Sweetback's Baad Asssss Song and many others!...
Television:
Nada, rien, nothing, what's that?
Books:
I like reading, I read a lot of books.
I want to quote Louis Ferdinand Celine on this page, cause of his true & rough vision of humanity in Voyage Au Bout De La Nuit.
There is a selection of books which describe a big part of my "culture" on the london'69'website.
But I like a lot south americans autors (Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Luis Sepulveda, Jorge Amado, Patricia Mello...), africans (Aamin Maalouf, Moses Isegawa, Nuruddin Farah, Ken Saro Wiwa...), and portugueses because of my origins (Antonio Lobo Antunes, Jose Saramago...), and many others...
Reading press, I like to read So Foot every month for their vision of football'world... And some press about music, which Cheribibi may be one of the most representative.
Heroes:
Tom Sawyer!
And some of my supa vinyls'covers!!!...
