His music is a unique pallet of lettered verse, effusive guitar and the blues, which exudes enthusiasm, affection, and a genuine ability to connect with his audience. As one reviewer put it, Eric is “the complete artist. He not only is a world-class singer but a composer, a songwriter, a prodigious guitarist and front man.” After most recently touring as music director, vocalist and guitarist with Buddy Miles, Eric has returned to New England and is currently writing material for his fourth recording.Growing up in rural New Hampshire where musical inspiration ran thin, Eric’s introduction to the guitar came from a middle school music class where he quickly discovered a connection to and aptitude for the instrument. Lunch table conversation centered around which guitarist was better, Van Halen or Steve Vai. Eric championed Vai and also began to seek out fresh inspiration. “I made weekly pilgrimages to the nearest town with a music store to buy any and every fast guitar CD that there was. Malmsteen, Macalpine, Howe, Moore, all of the neo-classical, metal guitar that a young man could want.”When Steve Vai was quoted as saying that Joe Satriani’s playing gave him chills, Eric needed no further endorsement and during his next trip to the music store he purchased Satriani's “Surfing with the Alien”. Eric says that “Surfing” changed everything for him. “Not only was this hot shit guitar playing, it was music. Beautiful, fun, exciting, optimistic, introspective music. This album made all the sense in the world to me.”Guitar lessons and stints in various bands followed before Eric met one of his more powerful mentors, Steve Warshaw. “In short, Steve taught me the blues.” Eric says about his close friend. This combination of blues influence, an effete sense of phrase and an interest in “just about everything” is what makes Eric’s music what it is today.Eric has produced three albums to date, Common Thread, Eric and the Wreckage, and the self-titled album, Eric Lindberg. While Common Thread and the Wreckage recording both touch on jazz and blues respectively, his self-titled album has been described as “well played pop music with jazz overtones, old-school country balladry, incendiary guitar and virtuoso playing throughout.” Eric is currently performing with Jason Corbiere, a native Vermonter and recipient of a Grammy nomination for his work with Roomful of Blues, and bassist Paul "Junior" Boyne, whose long list of accomplishments includes an 11 year stint with touring act, Steel Rodeo.“Eric Lindberg's talent and musicianship excel as his stage presence shines throughout his performance. His innate ability to lead a band and captivate an audience truly shows his expertise as a player and his flair for entertaining. With his razor sharp wit and his dexterity as a musician, Eric is clearly a force to be reckoned with.” says Chris Maynard, a talent buyer with The Soiled Dove Underground.
