About Me

"The best way to explain one of the most intensive rock bands in Dallas is to picture finding a diamond in the rough. One Minute Halo is that diamond in the rough.
One Minute Halo’s live show is a great example of how talented these young men are. With aggressive vocals from lead singer Jeromy Moorehead and his tremendous ability to control an audience from the stage, to the energetic presence of lead and rhythm guitarist Joey Catalano and TJ Johnson, the bass driving sound of bass player Chris Downs and the precise drumming skills of Brian B. One Minute Halo demonstrates its diversity and creativity to standout from the rest.
One Minute Halo is the diamond in the rough."

One Minute Halo merged onto The Dallas Music Scene in July of 2001. Bringing their unique mixture of melodic and heavy grooves to the masses. The band started with small underground venues gaining fans at every show. Soon they had a following that could not be ignored. After opening for such national acts as Thousand Foot Krutch, RED, Skillet, Seventh Day Slumber, Sevendust, and Trapt and touring with acts such as Taproot, One Minute Halo has a tour history under their belt that would rival most signed bands."Music these days is so negative and in a world of so many negative events we need music that helps people get through the hard times and wake up every morning happy to be alive! It's not about what has happened to us in the past, but about a higher purpose we are able to live through GOD. We need to burn the past away and focus on a new day," says singer Jeromy Moorehead.

Somewhere between melody and mayhem the music of One Minute Halo breathes. Originating from Dallas the band is comprised of vocalist Jeromy Moorehead, guitarist's Joey Catalano and Terry Johnson, bassist Chris Downs and drummer Brian Butts. OMH is a band that knows how to lock into a groove and throw out heavy riffs while leaving every drop of energy on the stage. Playing shows with heavyweights like Taproot, Sevendust, Kittie and Filter, OMH thrives on the road, amassing hundreds of performances to sharpen themselves sonically all while becoming a tighter unit for the masses. Their music is heavy, melodic and dynamic, bringing a universal lyrical appeal that relates to the common man. “Everyone can identify with our music,” states Moorehead. “We've always tried to create an atmosphere where people can lose themselves in it and make it their own.”

While OMH isn't about bashing people over the head with religion they are a band comprised of Christians, testimony to a group that takes its art and the no holds barred approach seriously. When they're onstage One Minute Halo is one mind, one body and one purpose. “On stage, everything clicks,” says Moorehead. “We know exactly what the crowd wants to see. We all feel the music when we play and it's evident by the strong energy that bounces off of our bodies.” Guitarist Johnson agrees, “There is a unity that we share that keeps us grounded and motivated. We know exactly what each other's thinking. It's a bond that no one can understand unless they are doing what we do.”

Before releasing their first full length disc in early 2009 One Minute Halo wanted to give their fans a taste of what was yet to come in the form of a four song EP titled Places. The disc was produced by Pillar guitarist Noah Henson and famed producer Travis Wyrick (POD, Pillar, Disciple, 10 Years). The opus will feature the bands first radio single “Under the Blue Skies.” The cut is a prime example of the heart and soul of OMH. Lyrically it runs deep speaking to God about his provisions for those at war. The song tells about the struggles of saying goodbye to loved ones that leave for war while asking for God's grace in dealing with loneliness, starvation, injury and in some cases death. Musically the band fires all barrels mixing melodic heft with subtle dynamics, all while a heavy chorus and a scream core breakdown serve as solid bedrock.

One Minute Halo is into the nuances of music and life. They seize the moment and relate subjects of positivity and hope to the Y generation while planting a melodic seed throughout each and every cut. “Our music is about the everyday struggles,” states Moorehead. “I want people to know they're not alone and there is an answer to everything. Not everyone will understand the name of Jesus, especially some of the places we play. That is why we strive to have the right walk and use our music as a weapon."
