“Revolution of Darkness†were born in Rome in early summer 2006, when TheCrow (Francesco) introduced Jungle (Antonello), the keyboard player, who studied for several years piano, to Maskara (Alessandro), the founder of the band.
The first genre sounded like Crossover/Nu-metal, but it wasn’t what they were looking for.
Slowly, the project became something more original and ambitious.
Revolution of Darkness stand out from other emerging bands with the use of bagpipes and violin arranged with electronic and complex bases, pained screams and one-sentenced lyrics.
The true target of the band is the search of peculiar, casual, obsessive sounds, but also the studied merger of dark ambient elements with purely alternative rock elements.
Instead of verse, refrain and bridge there’s a free and sincere flow of thoughts and feelings.
Luckily no one takes the use of make-up seriously, as they only wear it just for fun or because they want to.
On the stage the Revolution of Darkness miss themselves into the music, and there’s nothing else apart from it. Sometimes it was found fault with the choice about not to have a bassist and to use electronic bases, as people are got accustomed to the classical rock formation with bass and drums, but the band declared that, even though they take inspiration from bands with this kind of training, rock is a component that could be found just in a few pieces.
In their text it is told about tears to find again joy, death to find life, pain to find out again love.
That’s the revolution of darkness that Maskara, TheCrow and Jungle want to carry out.
The band appeared for the first time at “Classico Village†in June 2007, then in autumn several times at the Foxhole Pub and in February 2008 at Jailbreak Live Club, too.
