Dupree Sims was born in Detroit, Michigan on march 24th! He attended Pershing High School where he formed a singing group called the Cassanova's. After, graduation Dupree was recruited by The Dramatics in 1970 as a bass singer. While with the Dramatics he toured internationally and played many impressive U.S. venues including the Apollo Theater. After, leaving The Dramatics, Dupree formed a group called The Theatrics. Dupree decided to move to California, serving for Algerian Track Team during the Olympics In los Angeles. Dupree spent time at the Heritage Book Store where he shipped rare volumes and transcripts.
Dupree soon returned back to Detroit. Dupree then created a commerical for Max long Distance! Keeping teh ball rolling Dupree then created a group call "Serious" which he owns and managed. Dupree co-wrote with Arthur Phillips all of the songs and produced the music for the group. Serious has been spotted on the local Detroit Fox affilate WJBK-TV. The group was reformed under the name "Serieux" perfoming at several clubs during the year, and on New Years Serieux was the first group to perform at teh Apollo Lounge inside Greektown Casino in Detroit.
2003 Dupree traveled through Europe with Damon Harris (Tempations).
2004-2005 Dupree joined The Contour's touring all over the world.
2005-2006 Dupree toured in Japan with the Platter's.
2006 Dupree started a project SonyaDupree with his daughter Smok-A-Hantas (Hollyhood Clic Ent.) a song titled Don't Be stuck On Stupit.
2007 Dupree began his solo project called, Tribute To The Legends! I must say Dupree is off the hook! Dupree sings bass and has a wonderful talent to share!
