HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
In early 2004, having reached a certain ‘Is that it' stage in their lives, Ray and David decided to re-kindle their dream of playing in a rock band and so took up their neglected guitars once again.
At the first rehearsal they were joined by Steve who, despite having never played bass before, took to it with a passion.
Already an accomplished drummer performing in numerous other bands Stuart stood in at the odd rehearsal, but soon became a permanent member of the band (nepotism had nothing to do with it).
After a year of searching for a lead vocalist, Mike was spotted strangling a Tom Jones number at a pub Karaoke Night and invited to the bands next rehearsal. He immediately bought a distinctive style that fitted perfectly with the Bamboo Loud rock sound.
And so the Bamboo Loud line-up was complete by mid 2005 and still remains the same today.
Their much anticipated first live show sold out within 48 hours and launched Bamboo Loud as a new force on the local live circuit. Having cut their teeth on a number of local charity gigs and 'open-air' festivals, they have begun to attract a growing, if slightly deafened fan base.
At present performing a 50/50 mix of original songs and covers (always giving them the Bamboo Loud treatment with a pounding rock pace), they aim to increase this ratio, because performing their own material live is what it's all about.
Rooted in the classic rock style, Bamboo Loud are undeniably a solid band, delivering an original, lively performance with a sound to match. And with the imminent release of their debut album “Eats, Shoots and Leaves” - packed full of instantly memorable and catchy songs that'll have you singing for days later - Bamboo Loud are ready to move on up to the next stage.
