DJ Louie V

Louie V's early musical influences came from the 70's era, where, disco, soul and rock were all heard on the same radio station. Raised in Miami, Louie V fell in love with dance music through the local radio stations there and in New Jersey, where he would spend his summer vacations growing up. He began his DJ career by spinning Hip-Hop and Freestyle records at local gigs and house parties. Freestyle, or Hi-NRG, is a Latin influenced type of electro that is very popular on various Latin scenes, including Miami and New York. He is currently under management with Dynamite Entertainment Group based out of South Florida and is currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia.
He blends the sounds of Freestyle legends like Stevie B, the Cover Girls, and TKA with the Old school beats of Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force and Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam. He will take you on a ride thru the 80's spinning everything from Madonna to The Cure but infusions of his Latin and electro roots continue to pop up in the mix. His style is fast paced, smooth and unique and will keep you dancing till dawn or when the place shuts down.
I remember growing up in Hialeah Florida listening to The Power 96 radio station. It must've been around 1985 when hearing Brenda K Star's "Picking Up Pieces" and thinking damn this was a hot dance track. I remember all the freestyle concerts at Six Flags with Bo Griffin from Power, the Swamp Shop in Ft Lauderdale, getting hit in the head by Tony Moran throwing a drumstick into the audience, and the first night I stepped into the legendary Casanovas in East Hialeah, seeing the Sucios and sucias. I remember seeing the last performance of Secret Society at Oh Miami, TKA everywhere, the legendary Club 1235 in Miami Beach, later Deco's, Facade, Escapades, the Hialeah Spring Fest at the Racetrack. Rick's Bar, Penrods, HOT Wheels, even at Calle Ocho I remember seeing Trinere, Club NU, and this one goes back...The Beat Club, The Parallel Bar at the Bakery Center, Illusions in Hialeah - Damn! Skylight Express. But let’s not forget Ft. Liquor-dale had Backstreets and Nepenthaz.
My crew all packed in a low-rider Monte Carlo with the back seat pulled down, so you can expose the speakers. Everyone cruisin' down 49th Street with bass and freestyle bumping' at every corner. Chillin' at the Denny's parking lot with the Mustang crew and all the Z-28's. Or causing havoc at the Wasteland (Westland Mall). Everyone had Edwin’s on (red, white, lime green, pink, hot red, acid wash).They had to be the Edwin’s with the original yellow tag with red letters. The other tag and Cavaricciz came later after that. Your Addidas, Taxi shirt, or IOU sweater.
This was your typical concert. Standing around the front of the stage. Hialeah girl with her attitude, cubanaza...... talking all loud. Smiling and flirting around. Name plates, ropes and figaro chains shinning. Guys with their Tejas and girls with the huge ass bangs and combed up 5 inches. Everyone walking around like gang members or hanging with their crews. Freestyle artists get on stage and everyone was in a frenzy. Arms up high and everybody at the same time moving from side to side yelling "GO 'head! Go 'head! Go 'head! -eo, ee eo! Say e oh, e e e oh!. The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire....we don’t need no water. Let the Mutha F**er burn, burn mutha xxxx BURN!! And of course...you know a fight had to break out in the crowd. These are the times I want to take you back to remember the good times when Freestyle ruled.
