Band Members: Born in 1982, Julius L was a product of the Reagan Era of America, when crack sales and homicide was as rampant in Detroit as anywhere in the country. His life was turned upside down in 1989 when at the age of 7, his father was murdered in the same streets that would soon nearly claim his own life.He began making music and writing hooks for family members and local artists at age 13 and never stopped. Honing his skills in the cyphers of Cass Technical High School and Redford High, Julius L made his presence felt around the teenage rap audience in Detroit, while going by the names T-Money and Psychosis. While taking a hiatus from recording in 2003, he was shot in the chest by a close family member during a family dispute. This near brush with death motivated him to become an even more vicious and credible emcee, and express his lyrical prowess across an even broader audience. While his earlier works with producers such as Bruce Banor and Rob Hooks may be considered great works, Julius L embarked on a "Clubber Lang" type of journey which forced him to isolate himself away from all distractions and become an even more potent rhyme spitter, and he is now treading the path of a 50 cent or Jay Z; and said "Fuck it. I'll just sign myself to myself. That way a nigga can never tell me I'm whack and control my money. I write my own checks."And with that idea, Clientele Records was born from what was known as B.N.I. (Black Nation Immortals); primarily comprised of his cousins. Now mainly performing small venues in and around the metro Detroit area, Julius L is more content than ever. His flow is as crisp; his lyrics as precise; his delivery as fierce as anyone Detroit or the world has heard in years. And, with the Victory Mixtape Vol. 1 coming in the summer/fall of '08, audiences will get a glimpse at one of the most dynamic talents to come out of Detroit since a certain white boy from Eight Mile.
