Too far away from where you are...

About Me

I have two life principles that I do my best to live by.1.) I won't let the fear of getting hurt keep me from the things or people that I love. Life without living is pointless.2.) I will not be afraid to give up what is easy or comfortable to pursue what I believe will truly make me happy. The first principle tends to break me and I just hope the second can save me...I'm currently working for ExxonMobil in Shawnee, Ok as a process engineer. I work in a cave where we're expected to perform at a top level when every little thing is an emergency. I like my boss, but the company is probably in some way directly tied to the Devil.I'm also currently enrolled at OU taking 1 class, AME 5063, Composite Materials. It makes my tuesdays and thursdays incredibly long, but it's one class out of the way. I'll be going back to school full time soon to earn my masters degree in mechanical engineering. I'm not really sure where I'll be going, but It'll be somewhere that puts me close to my Love.I'm also convinced that I'm invincible. At least I have yet to find much evidence to the contrary. My Interests

I'm definitely multi-dimensional. I have a broad range of interests, especially for a good 'ol boy from Slaughterville, Ok.I'm an athlete. I spend most nights after work in the gym, just trying to get big. I play rugby because I like to hit people and they don't even make me wear pads when I do. I tend to break bones playing rugby. I broke my hand, my nose, and my face on separate occasions over the course of 12 months, playing less than 6 matches. I've played other sports: basketball in high school and baseball for 14 years, but rugby fits me best.I'm an engineer by trade and a whiz at math. I'm sorry. I know math sucks and it's not that I like it, it's just easy for me. I find however that I don't fit in very well with most engineers.I like music. I'm not musically talented, so I don't make music, but I listen as much as I can. I'm big into the red dirt music scene in Oklahoma, but I can appreciate everything from Bach to Tool.I can have fun mudding in an old pickup or enjoying the architecture of a random city. I like guns and love to fish, but find myself being more ecologically minded every day.I love road-trips and am usually willing to pile into a car with just about anyone to hit the open road. I've also been known to pack down the motorcycle for long weekend trips. Something about waking up in another state and another state of mind appeals to me.Finally, anyone who has been around me or kept up with me over this summer knows that my biggest interest is Jordan. I can't wait til we can be together for good.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet my Grandpa when he was younger, I've heard he was a great man.... I'd like to meet my future children when they're in their teenage years while I'm still young enough to remember what it was like.... I'd like to meet me in 40 years to see if I had the balls to go for it, and to see how often it payed off....Proverbs 31:10-31:A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her Husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. ...She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. ...She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. ...Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman that loves the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gateI have the most amazing woman in my life. Jordan is everything I've always wanted in a girl. I was almost convinced that a girl like her didn't exist, but she never ceases to amaze me. PUT YOUR I'D LIKE TO MEET SECTION HERE! Music:

I'll give almost anything a chance, and you never know what I'll like. I'm in a big Red Dirt phase right now. I love the music and the scene. Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Stoney Larue, Wade Bowen, No Justice, Blue Edmonson, Great Divide, Randy Rogers Band, Kevin Fowler, Reckless Kelley, etc.I like Rock too, but I don't listen to as much of it. I like the harder stuff though, like Chevelle, Seether, System of a Down, Hinder, Nickelback and so on. I like a little rap too, Em, Luda, DMX to name a few.I've found myself listening to a lot of Lifehouse recently too. I tend to go in cycles with my musical tastes; right now, it's a lot of distance/missing you songs.Because wealth of matter has never made much sense to me And It?s bought a lot of souls and never has it set one free I shed a couple tears but never did I grieve I walked away and left the keys ..... And it?s bound to take its toll Out runnin? wild and livin? free And I?ve done some growing up But I never lost the child in me We?re tossin? dice at things That might not ever be All just to see what I can see, yea ~ Desolation Angel by Reckless Kelly ~

Movies:

Comedy or Action. I tend to like Will Farrel movies if that tells you anything. In college, I watched a LOT of movies, but I haven't watched much recently. If you want to have a movie night, by all means, invite me over.

Television:

I watch college football when I get a chance. That's about it.

Books:

The Bible has long been a favorite of mine. Many of the old testament stories have all the elements of a modern blockbuster and the new testament tells a touching and true story of sacrifice and love.Besides that, I tend to read mostly classics when I get a chance. I don't think I've read a novel in over a year though. sad panda.

Heroes:

Jesus. He not only died for us, He also lived every breath of His life for us, A favor I hope I'm man enough to return before I die. Also, my dad. He has worked his ass off for 25 years trying to provide for his family. I hope I can live up to the example he has set for me.

thoughts while jogging

So I was listening to Ain't No Reason by Brett Dennen while jogging today, which is an awesome song btw. It got me thinking, about life and different things. Part of it:" You can spend your whole life...
