About Me

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

Q: What the &*$% does Long Pig mean?

A: Some cannibalistic tribes in the South Pacific refer to human flesh as " long pig ." Draw your own conclusions from there.

Long Pig originally formed in September of 2005. Featuring musicians from different projects and backgrounds, they were able within three and a half months to put together a crushing set and co-headline with Lokyata on New Year's Eve.

After that first show, Long Pig underwent a number of lineup changes, and eventually disbanded. Earlier this year, Long Pig re-formed with both original and new members, and intends to stake their claim as one of the most brutal bands to arise from the Jacksonville music scene!

There has been another lineup change recently, and with Eric coming in on vox, there will be a (hopefully) short break from live performances to write new music, retool the old music with new lyrics, and get into a studio to record.

Help Long Pig get a studio recording done!

Eric, formerly of Lokyata will be taking over on vocals. Daniyel is continuing to work with Surface, and we wish him the best of luck in his present and future endeavors.
